Which are the most admired indies? The Peer Poll reveals the 10 production companies that are most respected by their rivals

Studio Lambert


Studio Lambert moves up from fourth place to first in this year’s poll with rival indies admiring its “great ideas, brilliantly executed” and lauding it for being a “proven hit maker” and for “consistently winning commissions” and “always innovating.”


02 Sister Celebrity Gogglebox


It’s second place again in the Peer Poll for Sister with rival companies noting its “quality and consistency of output” and its “continued innovation and talent draw.” Others point to its “high quality storytelling” while another says simply “Jane Featherstone is a genius and Chernobyl was a masterpiece.”


03 72 Films


It’s straight in to the Peer Poll 10 for the relatively new Murdoch and All or Nothing producer. Rivals cite its “incredible range and quality” and its output’s “confidence and modernity” as well as the company’s “strong brand identity.”


04 Raw tv


Raw TV is a favourite among fellow indies for its “breadth and ambition,” its “incredible range and quality” and “for being ahead of the curve by landing huge SVOD hits” alongside its “big banker titles in the States that keep on giving.” Others call it a “juggernaut industry leader.”


05 Blast! Films


Up to fifth from seventh on the Peer Poll this time for Blast! with rivals citing its “ability to create popular factual hits made with flair.” Others point to its “solid portfolio of returning documentary brands with IP and now making inroads with US buyers and SVODS.”


06 Minnow


“Stylish, must-have programming” is how one rival describes Minnow’s output while others point to its “ability to mix auteur docs with great pop factual.” Another fellow indie says: “I wish I had their budgets but what they do stands out on screen.”


07 Keo Films


Keo produces “consistently high quality output across a wide range” says one fellow indie, while another says it “never hands in bad homework. Incapable of doing a bad job.” Others point to its Once Upon a Time in Iraq doc which is described as “superlative.”


08 True North


“They have managed success while retaining their values,” says one indie of the Leeds based outfit. Others admire its “genuine commitment to developing talent in the regions” while more say it is “always popping up with new shows that rate.”

Production


Drama specialist Red Production retains its top 10 spot for its “sustained success,” its “smart, interesting storytelling” and because it “makes a vast array of content and they are lovely to work with.”

Wall to Wall takes the tenth position in this year’s Peer Poll Top 10 on the back of its “quality shows with a wide range” and because it “continues to innovate across different shows and always delivers in terms of execution.”
