Irish-UK indie Element Pictures’ Normal People was a huge lockdown hit, not just on the BBC but around the world including on Hulu in the US, Stan in Australia, various Nordic PSBs and Starz for several remaining international territories. Element was in the late stages
of delivering Normal People when lockdown kicked in, completing post remotely. With production suspended
during lockdown, Element’s focus has been on development, notably on its upcoming adaptation of
Normal People
Sally Rooney’s Conversations with Friends. Last year, Element produced The Favourite, which had
10 Academy Award nominations. Element is also active across film distribution and exhibition.

Hot drama producer Eleven was acquired by Sony Pictures Television this year. Formerly supported by the C4 Growth Fund, the indie has won acclaim for its Netflix hit Sex Education, which has been recommissioned for a third series. Upcoming shows include political thriller White Stork for Netflix.

Euston Films launched two large scale dramas this year Dublin Murders and Baghdad Central, both of which have sold well internationally. It shot The Sister for ITV at the end of 2019, completing post remotely during lockdown.
