Trade NEWS New liquid

Fire resistant glazing fitted at Gloucestershire Airport

WRIGHTSTYLE HAS completed a project to fit its fireproof fixed field windows at the airport’s Skyborne Flight Training Centre, a new purpose built, 13,000 ft2

unit equipped

with ‘the very latest aircraft, top-of-the-range flight simulators and other equipment to train tomorrow’s commercial pilots’. The airport, located in Cheltenham, offers flights to Jersey and the Isle of Man alongside charter services. For the project, Wrightstyle supplied

six windows with a fire resistance of 60 minutes from the company’s WSL 60 series framing system, as part of the new offices at the training centre. The ‘need for fire resistance protection’ stemmed from the fact that these

offices are positioned inside the hangar. The company has installed windows at other airports and transport infrastructure projects, such as Luton Airport, King’s Cross train station, the Crossrail development and international airports in Dubai and Hong Kong. At Gloucestershire Airport, Wrightstyle was working on behalf of contractors Mildren Construction, while the windows were installed by its approved installer, Structural Systems Cardiff Ltd. John Woodcock, contracts manager

at Wrightstyle, commented: ‘It was a pleasure working on this

project as

everything fell into place, with the whole job going like clockwork.’

Black Box restructures management

FIREXO IS a ‘ground-breaking’ new liquid which is able to ‘quickly extinguish all classes of fire’, according to the company that manufactures it. In one test, nine litres of it reportedly put out a car fire ‘in just 53 seconds’. In addition, the liquid is said to be environmentally friendly and ‘cools to touch’. It will be available in four forms: a sachet, a spray, three sizes of extinguishers and ‘mass’, for fire and rescue services. For more information, visit www.firexo.com

TECSERV UK has been appointed as an approved partner and official distributor of Siemens fire alarm systems, enabling it to ‘add another leading brand’ to its portfolio. The company can now install and maintain Siemens systems, and is ‘therefore more able to meet customer and specification requirements’. M&S Simply Food, Harvey Nichols, The Ritz, Eon and St Paul’s Cathedral are just some of the company’s clients. Visit www.tecserveuk.com for more information
