DEREK NICE STUDIO PAINTING, MIXED MEDIA


Derek Nice paints and builds images inspired by the sea. Each process conducts a dialogue with the other. His angels are made from storm-wrecked boat fragments: a metaphor dedicated to the traumatic experience of refugees seeking safe haven. His typographic pieces metamorphose from ghosts of language to abstract visual statements.


Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays except by appointment.

I am a sculptor working mainly from life in a naturalistic way.


Recently I have also been experimenting with abstraction in order to express organic forms.

Original hand-framed knitwear by Buffy Fletcher in silk, wool and other natural fibres. Hats, scarves, sweaters and jackets using a wide palette of colours. Also yarn oddments for sale.


Pam Lloyd works in both flameworked and fused glass. She will be exhibiting fused glass plaques and bowls together with unique jewellery incorporating her lampworked beads. Loose beads are also for sale.


Chris George uses wood from local sources to turn bowls which highlight the natural beauty of the wood sometimes enhanced by charring and texturing.
