Humanity faces some urgent issues. My art engages with the seriousness and truth about these, that do and will affect everyone. Political art, often devalued, is today more mainstream. Notably with two National Museum exhibitions and recently published books. Original works NFS, but postcards and related books will be for sale plus free copies of published reference material.

ANNE CARPENTER MIXED MEDIA, PRINTS, TEXTILES


Anne’s fabric collage pictures are painting with fabric and drawing with scissors. All materials are hand-cut and fixed by PVA adhesive. Anne works to commission, mainly portraits of houses and animals. Landscapes and foods are also subjects. Currently interested in printing, with fabric additions. Illustrated talks given and workshops arranged.

ANDREA OKE, SANDRA JAMES, MARGARET MICKLEWRIGHT


PAINTING, PRINTS, DRAWING, SCULPTURE, PAPER


Inspiring works by three accomplished artists whose work covers a large variety of media and techniques. Inspired by the people and places of Somerset, Andrea's work explores themes of storytelling. Human interaction, relationships and fragility are explored in Sandra’s work. She investigates these themes through the mediums of sculpture and print. Margaret’s work is an evocative response to her deep-rooted understanding of the landscape around her. The artists will be available to discuss their work and will demonstrate their techniques during workshops throughout Art Weeks. Full details on their website.
