GARE HILL ROAD POTTERY CERAMICS, POTTERY


Russell Coates makes hand-painted underglaze blue porcelain dishes, bowls, vases, boxes, jugs and mugs enamelled with birds, animals and sea-creatures.


Hiro Takahashi’s ceramic work focuses on intricate forms and textures, especially architectural Soul Houses, Towers of Myth and allegorical Boats. This distinctive narrative approach can be seen in other themes; message boxes and the Tree of Life.


Our studio workshop will be open and we will offer ‘have a go’ throwing and underglaze blue tile painting.

I am making a focussed series of paintings, all called ‘Birches in Mist’.


After 50 years as an artist I have found a theme around which I can weave most of what I have learned in that time.


I will also be showing the art films I made for BBC2 and C4.

Kit Sadgrove is showing his street photography images: photos that capture the fleeting moments of people's lives in public, as they quarrel, laugh and eat with their mouths open.


Kit will also be showing his sculptures of Ugly Modern Lusts, using 3D printing technology.
