There WILL be a British Shooting Show in the North!

Undeterred by the rogue Mayor of Liverpool, John Allison vows to come good with a show in the North of England in 2020

A

week maybe a longtime in politics, but it appears to be a lifetime for John Allison, owner of the British Shooting Show. Just days after offi cially launching the Liverpool British Shooting Show, it was sensationally axed by Liverpool’s mayor – and despite meetings with BASC and Charlie Jacoby, nothing could be done to resurrect the event. And now it appears that there will be a British Shooting Show in the North of England in 2020. “Liverpool’s dead and buried,” says John. “You’ve got to move on. It was a great shame to lose Liverpool – it was a good venue and it was simply wrecked by an outsider.” T&G understands that just days after

news broke about the cancellation of the Liverpool show, John received a phone call from a huge organization offering to step in. John continued: “The phone call came out of the blue and obviously I was initially skeptical. The last thing I want is to waste another year on a venue that wont or can’t come to fruition – but the venue checks out. We’re back in business!” The new venue, which cannot be named until the ink has dried on the contracts, is privately owned. T&G has learnt that John has already spoken directly with the venue owners, and that the venue’s board of directors has unanimously agreed the proposed British Shooting Show North. “We’ve seen the new venue and it supersedes everything we’ve seen

before. Due diligence is done and we have an agreement in principal. As soon as we are able to announce the venue we will – but the trade can be assured, we WILL have an event in the North of England in September 2020.” Meanwhile Birmingham remains

as strong as ever – with dates confi rmed for 2021 and 2022.

What we know so far:

• The new venue is privately owned • Direct talks with venue owners • Venue board unanimously agrees event • The venue is bigger and has good access • Dates set for September 2020, 21 and 22
