This year saw Bauer Media grow the original Farnborough-based Big One considerably while launching its sister show at Stoneleigh. Now the media giant has big plans to grow the two events even further. Just how big can they get? T&G finds out more...

auer has announced audacious plans to grow both its Big One shows considerably in 2020. Buoyed by the success of its
acquisition, the launch of the Stoneleigh Big One, a whopping 20 per cent month- on-month increase in pre-ticket sales at the well-established Farnborough, a 44 per cent increase in pre-ticket sales for Stoneleigh and already a 50 per cent increase in exhibitors for the 2020 Midlands event, the company is now well-placed to invest further. And now the event organiser thinks
that provided the magic of the event can be harnessed, the sky really is

the limit with the pair of shows. The Midland’s event filled the gap between North and South and drove an entirely new audience to Stoneleigh Park - and visitor feedback was positive. Next year sees the two events switch time slots - with the Big One Midlands taking place first on the weekend of 29th Feb -1st March and The Big One Farnborough coming to town three weeks later on its normal weekend of 21st-22nd March 2020. The Bauer team along with Vince Davies are working exceptionally hard to continually improve and evolve the events listening to both industry and
visitor feedback and are already storming ahead on ticket sales and exhibitor bookings, and with such a strong industry backing in place the shows are looking to be bigger than ever! Top highlights from the 2019 shows, which will be returning for 2020 due to popular demand, include The Legend’s stage, which brought live entertainment into the shows around a fabricated pond with a packed schedule full of the angling world’s favourite fishing stars. Another new feature at Farnborough was ‘Lure Live’ a dedicated area for lure fishing fanatics with demonstrations from the world’s leading anglers. Back
