ABVISTA Extracting the maximum benefits of a combination of phytase and xylanase on animal performance Phytate has shown to reduce

animal performance and nutrient uptake. The use of high doses of Quantum Blue phytase, known as Quantum Blue superdosing, has been benefiting the poultry and pig industry for a while, by improving performance and reducing production costs. These benefits go beyond standard mineral release, and are related to Quantum Blue’s unique affinity for phytate, resulting in elimination of phytate anti-nutritive effects, thus increasing energy and amino acid utilisation. Moreover, as Quantum Blue is hydrolysing phytate more completely, inositol is released, resulting in improved performance. Non starch polysaccharides (NSPs) are also detrimental

to performance and nutrient utilisation of animals, and xylanase supplementation can help to overcome such challenges. New insights into the mode of action of xylanases has shown that xylanases differ in the way they hydrolyse NSPs. Econase XT has shown to produce beneficial oligosaccharides, promoting hind-gut fermentation of small fibre fractions. Econase XT is an intrinsically thermo-tolerant xylanase shown to be highly effective in both viscous and non-viscous diets. Quantum Blue superdosing and Econase XT combination can

positively shift hind gut microbiota, by improving utilisation of nutrients such as minerals, protein, starch and fat. As a result, less undigested material will reach the hind gut and the main component will be small fibre fractions. Both products can be applied either as dry in the mixer or as

liquids post-pelleting. In feed activity can be quickly determined by using ELISA technology.

effects derived from Lipopolysaccharides (LPS). In high-performing ruminants, depressions of performance as well

as fertility and health problems caused by low pH – levels and high endotoxin load in the rumen are a common problem. Endotoxins (lipopolysaccharides, LPS) are part of the outer

cell membrane of gram - negative bacteria such as Coli bacteria or Salmonella. In healthy cattle, large amounts of endotoxins are produced in the rumen by normal bacterial activity. Such endotoxins can enter the bloodstream and will be stored in fat tissue of the animal. If a rapid and extensive mobilization of the fat tissue then occurs at the beginning of the lactation, large amounts of endotoxins re-enter the blood circulation. Endotoxins can also be excreted with the milk - by endotoxin-

containing colostrum, calves can also be adversely affected in their development.

Diseases, associated with the impact of endotoxins: Rumen dysfunction and damage of the rumen mucosa; Mastitis; Laminitis; Abomasal displacement; Fertility disorders The multistage effect of agromed®

Phytate is compromising your feed performance Phytate anti-nutrient effects could be costing you £4 per tonne in lost performance.

TIME 305 against the negative

impact of endotoxins: 1. Stabilization of feed intake in the peripartal period (by pH stabilization)  Improved energy supply and reduced body - fat mobilization 2. Anti - oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects neutralize the negative impact of endotoxins and actively intervene in the inflammatory process 3. Acidosis prophylaxis  reduces the risk of endotoxin release in the rumen at non-physiological low pH values Agromed Austria GmbH www.agromed.at
