EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued

Innovative Hilti line-up

There was a logical flow in Hilti’s stand design. Visitors were first able to see the manufacturer’s Hilti Connect in action, an app that uses near field communication (NFC) tags placed inside a tool to read details about the product held on the internet and accessed via a smartphone or mobile device. It shows its service and repair history, and allows the technician to schedule collection of the product by Hilti for maintenance. All new tools are now fitted with tags and they are being retro-fitted to items received at Hilti’s national service centre in Glasgow. Hirers then had the opportunity to see the manufacturer’s latest

launches, including the new TE 2000-AVR, a 14.5kg breaker, which was included in the Innovation Trail - Live presentations at the Show, and is claimed to offer similar performance to that of other comparable 30kg-class models. A new chisel design has been developed for the tool, which has a quoted vibration rating of 4.8m/s2

and can be

connected to a dust vacuum, and the chisel will also be offered on other models. Also on show was the TE 3000-AVR 30kg-class breaker, which now has integrated dust extraction capability.

Euro Towers launches One 2

Complementing its Euro One Tower designed for one person to assemble and use, Euro Towers has introduced the Euro One 2, a version that can accommodate two people but still only requires a single operative to erect. The platform measures 1.5m by

0.7m and the product offers platform heights of 1.1, 2.1, 3.1, 4.1, 5.1 and

6.1m. The base unit forms a trolley for fast storage and transportation. 01604 644774

New Kohler-SDMO generators

Kohler-SDMO’s display included the new K22C3, K33C3 and K44C3 diesel generators, which have 20kVA, 30kVA and 40kVA outputs respectively. All are powered by the latest Kohler KDI engines designed for compactness, reduced noise and low emissions. Standard characteristics include a long run fuel tank, three-way fuel valves, socket panel and hard wire facility. Also on display was the new APM403 control panel, pictured,

specifically designed for the manufacturer’s water-cooled generator range. It incorporates a Websupervisor system for telemetry functions and remote monitoring, and it can also ring-fence machines for security.

pipes and profiles of up to 63.5mm and which enables tradesmen such as plumbers to undertake cold cutting operations with no sparking. Also new, and which was also included in Innovation Trail - Live, was

the DCH 300-X, a variant of the existing DCH 300 electric concrete saw, developed for operation with water for up to 30% faster operation. It offers a maximum cutting depth of 120mm, enabling it to cut through standard bricks and concrete blocks with a 10mm render, and it can be used with Hilti’s DD-WMS 100 water management system, designed to suppress dust at the point of contact. It has an integral 14-litre reservoir that can collect and recycle the water up to seven times.
