EXECUTIVE HIRE SHOW REVIEW continued

Fuel-efficient power from Seddons

Seddons unveiled the new Honda EU22i portable inverter generator. The machine delivers 2,200W, representing a 200W increase over the previous model, the EU20i. Designed to meet the Euro5 emissions regulations, it has a Honda GXR120 engine, developed for low levels of noise and fuel consumption. The machine is

designed to provide clean and stable electricity to charge devices such as laptops, tablets and mobiles, and has an Eco-throttle mode to adjust engine speed to match electrical output with load, when maximum output is not required.

Freeze Master showed a compact and clever representation of how its Bungee Clamp can be used with its pipe freezing machines to target a particular pipe when several are installed running in parallel in awkward locations. The clamp

allows the freeze head to be attached to the front of the pipe by simply feeding the cords around the back of it. It is then placed against the front of the pipe where the ice plug is required, and the user then pulls the cords and slots

them into the clamp, which has a flat bracket and a convenient U-shape configuration on the top edge. It can be used on pipes up to 42mm outside diameter.

Genquip’s steady Pulse

New from Genquip is the Groundhog SWO9700 Fusion Pulse, static welfare unit incorporating an office and with separate male and female toilet facilities. It has a solar panel to trickle charge the internal battery and can accommodate 12 people. Also on show was the GPO500 Fusion Pulse, a 16ft twin-axle unit with

a galvanised chassis for longevity. The floor is made from a recycled plastic that is non-porous and resists water, and this model, which seats eight personnel, also includes an office space. The company also promoted the training courses it offers in maintain

the products, as well as a new package for hire desk personnel to enable them to maximise business opportunities. Genquip estimates that it will train more than 600 people at its South Wales headquarters this year.

Shining out on the Advanced KFS stand was a new Plant & Go vehicle that has been ordered by Herts Tool Company of St. Albans, whose Director Stefano Lobban is pictured, right, with the manufacturer’s Phil Simcox. The truck, which was delivered immediately after the Show, has been specified with a tailgate rather than ramps, and has an upgraded winch. Weighing

less than 3,500kg, the Plant & Go can be driven by anyone aged over 18 with a standard UK driving licence. It has a floor height of only 530mm from the ground and a typical kerb weight of 1,840kg. The design allows use as a traditional dropside to carry general fleet items, while enabling users to deliver light plant, removing the need to tow a trailer.
