Fourth location for upbeat BTE
BTE Plant Sales has opened its fourth location in Droitwich. The machinery distributor has also just reported record sales of over £56m for the 2017/2018 financial year. The new facility complements existing depots in Leyland, Leeds and the Head Office in Markfield, Leicestershire. Chairman Ben Elliot, who founded BTE 28 years ago, was in

Hird chooses battery power
Powered access and lifting equipment hirer, Hird, has added a battery-powered Hinowa tracked boom to its fleet. The company is replacing a 23.12 model diesel machine, purchased in 2013, with a Lightlift 26.14 Lithium unit. Jason Hellwig, Northern Access
Manager, said: “We know this machine is popular with facilities maintenance contractors in particular, because it can pass easily through double doorways and has very low ground pressure. Clients also express a preference for a battery model, rather than a mains-powered boom, as the Hinowa Lithium does not have any trailing cables.” Hird has several Hinowa machines in
its fleet, all purchased from Access Platform Sales (APS), the official UK distributor.
