Groundhog is expanding, with a new material store already in progress.
“We have recently put solar panels on the roof, we have undertaken a full carbon audit and we’ve joined the Confederation of Forest Industries (Confor) to look at how we can offset our carbon footprint. Meanwhile, the generators in our units have been compatible with HVO for the last 18 months. In an ideal world there would be no generators at all and they’d be running on fairy juice, but I don’t see that happening because end-users don’t always operate them in the way intended. So we need to meet our customers half-way, in terms of cost, hire rate and usability.
“Looking ahead, we see massive opportunities in hydrogen, but the technology is not quite there yet. There’s the cost issue, of course, you can’t keep a lot of it on site and the fuel cell would need to run constantly during the winter months.
Bespoke cabins are prepared in a separate unit.
“Basically, we’ll be going to the Executive Hire Show with a full order book. We won’t be showing this at next year’s event, but we're working on new technology that we're looking to highlight at the Executive Hire Show in 2023.”
