UKCM appoints new Fabrication Manager to streamline services

CONTAINER repair and refurbishment company, UK Container Maintenance (UKCM) have appointed Mark Fitzpatrick to the role of Fabrication Manager, to improve services and increase overall effi ciency.

Mark, a highly experienced welding engineer, joins the company with over 25 years of relevant industry experience.

Throughout his career, Mark has worked on a range of impressive projects, including the Royal Navy’s Type 45 Destroyers, QEC and Prince of Wales aircraft carriers, and London and North Western Railways - where he restored steam engine locomotives.

Drive production effi ciencies

Mark is now overseeing the welding team to drive production effi ciencies whilst maintaining the exceptionally high standards, to support the increased operational capacity of UKCM as one of the largest heavy container and fabrication facilities in the UK.

This follows UKCM’s major capital investment in a new state-of- the-art 80,000 sq. ft. factory - an impressive refurbishment plant which includes wash, shot blast, spray, fabrication and repair and modifi cation booths, and an impressive container testing facility.

This investment has allowed the business to signifi cantly increase repair, refurbishment and fabrication capacity, particularly with an emphasis on front end loaders, rear end loaders, skips and four wheeled 500-1280 litre bins.

CEO Emma Elston MBE said: “We are thrilled to welcome Mark on board. His career in the industry brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team, which will help us to streamline our

 MARK Fitzpatrick, UKCM Fabrication Manager services supporting the company and our customers.”

Established in 1998, UKCM works with waste companies, councils and other prolifi c organisations all over the country, helping to prolong the life of waste containers. They also off er mobile repairs which can be carried out at the customer’s own facility.

The process brings old, and often unwanted, waste containers back to life instead of them going to scrap.
