Keeping up with the Joneses is no problem for Wolverhampton fi rm after Blue Southern deal

BLUE Southern and Jones Skip Hire, in Wolverhampton have continued their growing eight year relationship with a dual deal this year which places the company at the forefront of the sector.

Blue Southern recently delivered a Fuchs MHL350 to Jones Skip Hire after the company purchased a MHL340 earlier this year. They were so impressed with the original machine's performance, they ordered a Fuchs MHL350 material handler just a week after they took delivery.

Lyndon Rushby, Director of Jones Skips, started the business with his dad, Richard Rushby back in 1998. The company began as a partnership using a small fl eet of skip vehicles, and small stock of skip material.

Over the years Jones Skips expanded - with bigger custom and a bigger fl eet. The company continues to operate as a family run business, serving waste disposals, bulk haulage services, and tipper lorry hire.

In order to keep up with the high demand for their services, Jones Skips have added two Fuchs Material Handlers to their fl eet.

With an operating weight of up to 37.5 tonnes and a reach of 16 metres, the Fuchs MHL350 gives a solid performance in an array of conditions. Upgrades from the previous model have resulted in higher fuel effi ciency, improved height range, and smoother performance and control.

The new high output 160 kW turbo diesel engine, and the powerful dual circuit hydraulic system, ensures even heavier loads are handled with precision and speed.

Alongside the MHL350’s robustness and state of the art technology, attention to detail in operator comfort and safety

UNTHA UK have appointed multi- discipline engineer Henry Norris as company project manager.

Responsible for coordinating client installations from the point of shredder sale to commissioning and handover, he will be a crucial interface between all of UNTHA UK’s departments.

are just some of the further advantages which are standard on the highly functional handler.

Jones Skips have had a long-standing relationship with Blue, based very much on the excellent service received over many years. The company made their purchase history with Blue when they bought a Doppstadt DW2560K. They now have two AK635’s as well as a DW3060, purchased last year to downsize and shred material.

Jones have purchased the Fuchs MHL340 for pre-sorting and feeding their waste plant, and the MHL350 to feed shredders and load artics with the 800 litre grab.

New Project manager appointed at UNTHA UK

With more than 18 years’ customer-facing experience, his key responsibility is to oversee the successful completion of projects on time within budget, and deal with client expectations.

After graduating from university with a mechatronics degree, Henry (Left) began his career with GSPK Engineering – a machine builder for the printed circuit board industry. A design engineer involved in virtually every stage of a contract – from quotation to completion – he then advanced into project management.

Carpets industry

Having also worked for an automation equipment specialist, his most recent position prior to joining UNTHA UK was project manager for Huddersfi eld- headquartered Sellers. At Sellers, he ran both domestic and overseas assignments - supplying fi nishing machinery to the global carpets industry.

Commenting on the reason for his appointment at UNTHA UK, Managing Director Marcus Brew said: “Our projects are becoming increasingly complex, due

to the varying applications our shredders are being tasked to handle and the scale of the plants they’re being procured for.

“Assignments of this nature are now the norm for us, so it’s important that as our company grows, we maintain – and improve on – standards.

“Henry will play a crucial part in ensuring this happens, on large and small projects.

"He is a strong communicator with a vast degree of engineering experience, and has already started to build a solid rapport with clients and colleagues alike.”

Headhunted for the position, Henry added: “I was particularly impressed by the quality of UNTHA’s shredding technology, their team dynamic, and the scope of the projects they are now appointed to deliver.

"They’ve already got a solid foundation for further success, and I look forward to overseeing the activity – and development – of their project management function to play a core part of that.”
