Avery Dennison launches official first-ever Premier League retro font
A very Dennison has
launched an official Premier League retro font from the
2007-2017 era.
This marks the first time that an official retro font has been made available for football clubs and retailers, responding to high demand from clubs and fans for authentic retro shirts.
The 2007-2017 font remains one of the most recognisable designs in global football. Until now, no official version of this font had been available for purchase, leading to unofficial imitations in the market, and so Avery Dennison is bringing back the iconic typography, made to the exact specifications used
during its original run to ensure accuracy and authenticity in every detail. Distinct from today’s Premier League font, the 2007-2017 design featured a bold, angular style with sharp edges and a slightly condensed shape, making it instantly recognisable.

Matoha raises £1.5m to unlock circularity in textiles and materials supply chains

K-based startup Matoha, has completed a first phase of Seed funding which will enable the manufacturer to solve the problem of textiles sorting for recycling. More than 15kg of textile waste is generated per person every year in Europe, of which 85% is discarded clothes and home textiles. Approximately 60% of this ends up in landfill. A key problem in recycling textiles is the identification and separation of their component fibres.
Matoha has developed manually operated devices that scan and accurately identify the compositional make-up of textiles in less than a second. The devices are designed to be intuitive and easy to use. This augments the human capability to rapidly sort materials into valuable reusable and recyclable feedstock, speeding up the entire sorting process.
The second phase of this Seed round will support the automation and scaling of Matoha’s technology via AI-driven robotic solutions.
