Reducing energy consumption for screen printers

To reduce energy consumption in its electric and gas dryers H.G. Kippax uses high-quality thermal insulation to keep the heat inside the dryer’s chamber and prevent wasted energy from escaping the unit. The internal heating system is manufactured with highly effective small ceramic heating elements. They function more effi ciently than the large infrared panels found in other manufacturers’ dryers. H.G. Kippax’s electric and gas dryers allow the user to view real-time energy consumption charts so they can calculate electrical consumption/ operating costs. In this current climate the ability to identify how much electricity the dryer is using and monitor their wasted energy usage is essential.
Anatol has a line of air circulating tunnel dryers which once the air is heated inside they retain the heat and do not need to reheat every time it is needed. This means print shops can utilise the recirculated air that has already been heated from previous production runs. Anatol dryers are manufactured with all the walls insulated with specialist cotton fi bre to store heat more effi ciently in the middle of the dryer. Finally and importantly, H.G. Kippax’s Split-Air System inside the dryers can save on gas consumption by as much as 25%.

The Lo-E infra red conveyor dryer cures DTG, pretreatment, water-based screen printed and discharge ink at high rates using 20% less energy than comparable dryers. The compact size is ideal for use in any business where limited current draw is a concern. The modular design of Vastex dryers allows additional heating chambers and belt extensions to be easily added, allowing a signifi cant increase in curing capacity. This exclusive Vastex advantage enables you to increase capacity as your business grows, limited only by available fl oor space and power supply. Conveyor extensions can also be added to the front or back of your dryer to optimize loading and cooling/ unloading of garments.
The Lo-E is a great machine for a single DTG operating out of a home-based business or, with expansion, an effective dryer when higher production levels are required. At a three-minute bypass time, the Lo-E cures up to 45 garments per hour DTG printed with digital white ink. At 1.5 minutes bypass time, the Lo-E cures up to 88 CMYK DTG garments per hour, 88 pretreat garments per hour, or 88 garments per hour screen printed with water-based ink or discharge.
Drawing 22 amps at 230 volts single phase, or 7 amps at 380V three phase, the twin 61cm by 46cm high-effi ciency infrared heaters provide 4.6 kW of power. The height-adjustable heaters offer dual zone temperature control and carry an industry-leading 15-year warranty.
A 10.5 m3/min. the exhaust system removes moisture and air contaminates from the heating chamber, and cools the outer skin and control panel.
The 76cm wide by 224cm long conveyor runs true by means of a low friction belt aligner patented by Vastex, with belt speed controls allowing infi nitely adjustable dwell times from one to fi ve minutes.
