P&P LIVE! 2022 Review Did you manage to see it all?
It seems that plenty of product innovation occurred during the two years since Printwear & Promotion LIVE! last took place, with plenty to see live during the three-day exhibition. The star of the show was certainly direct to film printing, with many visitors attending just to check this new arrival out. Over the next few pages, we recap what you may have missed during your visit.
DIRECT TO FILM PRINTING…
Two years ago, the phrase ‘direct to film printing’ was unheard of. Now in 2022, more than 15 exhibitors were showcasing this up-and-coming method on their stands. If you came in through the entrance and turned left you would have first stumbled across R A Smart, which was showcasing a full DTF solution on stand. Alex Mighall, operations manager, said that as a team they were really excited to show off their 60cm DTF solution. “It was great to have a packed out stand full of interested purchasers. DTF was definitely the talk of the show!” A few stands away from R A Smart was Resolute with a completely different take on direct to film printing. A prototype model of the brand-new R-Jet Pro DTF NP was pulling in the crowds. This DTF printer eliminates the powder step of the DTF process. It will be available in the UK within the next couple of months. If you carried on walking up the aisle to the left of Resolute’s stand you would have visited Dye Sublimation Supplies. At the exhibition the team launched and demonstrated its new and exciting range of DTF printers and consumables. On display were three options for visitors to explore, from the large format 60cm DTF system for those looking for serious production capacity, to a mid-range 30cm version, and a more accessible desktop A3 setup for those looking to get their foot in the door. All three options provide fantastic results at various production volume levels.
Walking further up the aisle towards the rear of the hall was new exhibitor DTF Supplies, which as the name suggests supplies a whole range of direct to film printing supplies; from printers to consumables. This was the stand to visit if you had wanted to find out more about this immerging technology.
Just across from DTF Supplies was Screen Print World. Although not known for getting involved with digital technology, the company chose to use Printwear & Promotion LIVE! as the opportunity to introduce the MTEX direct to film transfer printer to visitors. The machine is purpose built for the DTF process in a factory in Portugal. What makes it stand out from others in the market is that the all-in-one printer, shaker and dryer is from one supplier, not made from various suppliers in the far east. If you kept walking along the back of the hall to the top right corner you would have found Midwest Machinery. Typically recognised as an embroidery supplier, it must have been a surprise for some visitors to see the Sublistar DTF 6002 ProMax on stand.
