Embroidery is always a major focus at Printwear & Promotion LIVE! and at this year’s exhibition nearly a fifth of all stands featured some kind of embroidery equipment or supplies.
AJS Embroidery Services showcased the very latest machines from Tajima, including the TMEZ-KC series, which is equipped with intelligent thread management function for automating the embroidery finish process. i-TM analyses the stitch-by-stitch sewing direction and the fabric thickness to compute the appropriate amount of upper thread feed for the next stitch and makes proper adjustments to the finished stitches, so that the embroidery finish that is considered to be good can be achieved in a stable manner.
Over on the Barudan stand, visitors were able to see the new BEKT-S1502CII in action. Launched late last year, this machine features an 8.4in LCD high resolution touch, high-speed colour change system for increased production, new tensioner system and a LED thread break detection light, and a maximum speed of 1,100spm onto flat garments or 1,000spm onto caps.
Four new machines from Merlin Pro were on display on GS UK’s stand. These included the Merlin Pro RS10-1504 – four head, 15 needle machine, the Merlin Pro RS10-1502 – twin head, 15 needle machine, Merlin Pro RS7-1501, 15 needle machine single head, and the Merlin 101. The new the Merlin Pro RS10-1504 has a maximum stitching speed of 1,000spm plus a host of new features including an in-built, high definition, true colour 10.4in LCD touch screen. Annette Sucharewycz, sales manager, said: “We made record sales on the stand, selling our Merlin Pro embroidery machines as well as heat presses and Brother PR machines.”
Enjoying another great show this year was the team at Hobkirk Sewing Machines. On display was the latest 8in touch screen models from Ricoma. Following on from the hugely popular 7in screen models, all new Ricoma MT, TC and SWD models will now come as standard with the latest 8in high-definition LCD touch screen. Mark Hobkirk, managing director, commented: “We had another great show this year, a good calibre of visitor and a good number of machine orders!”

of the Holiauma range and getting it in front of potential customers.
For those looking for an industrial option, Stocks Embroidery Solutions had the answer. The brand-new ZSK Rocket was being demonstrated live on stand for the first time in the UK. With a mesmerising top speed of 2,020spm, this embroidery machine is a true workhorse. And finally, YES Group showcased the newest releases from SWF and Ricoma on stand. The new SWF KX series of single and high-speed multi-heads are just packed with the very latest operational technology, including automatic thread tensioning, digitally controlled pressor feet, smaller cylinder arm, picker free, fantastic high-speed stitching with speeds of 1,200spm, and so much more tech. While, the Ricoma MT20 8s 20 needle single and multi-heads feature a large embroidery area of up to 510x155mm per head.
This is just a whistlestop tour of all the fascinating new pieces of equipment that were on display during Printwear & Promotion LIVE! It’s great to see that year-on-year our exhibitors continue to innovate and choose the exhibition as the launch pad for their new technologies.
