uperheroes and spaghetti are two key elements of childhood. Visits to amusement parks provide favourite childhood memories as well. This month,
Six Flags Fiesta Texas celebrated the combination of all three with the grand opening of its much-anticipated new coaster, Kid Flash Cosmic Coaster. The only racing roller coaster in Texas, the new attraction’s twin tracks operate simultaneously and cross over and under each other a dozen times during each ride cycle.
Flash is part of the P’Sghetti Bowl Children’s Coaster line. Celebrating the innocent and awkward way young kids often first pronounce ‘spaghetti’, Skyline has named the coaster product - which features six off-the-shelf layouts as well as customisable ride elements - after the pasta dish. The P’Sghetti Bowl Children’s Coaster product was first introduced in September 2021 with its innovative weld-free track design, which allows for a streamlined fabrication process. The inclusive train design comfortably seats an adult and child, or two children, in each row, and has broad appeal for operators of all sizes. Kid Flash’s two parallel duelling tracks allow both
trains to run simultaneously so guests compete and race during each ride cycle. The 36” (91 cm) minimum height requirement makes it accessible to young thrill seekers and expands Fiesta Texas’ coaster collection to guests of all ages.
A breath of fresh air “The P’Sghetti Bowl Children’s Coaster is a long-awaited breath of fresh air in the world of children’s coasters,” shared Tyler Mullins, design engineer, Skyline Attractions. “Completely manufactured in the United States, the innovative single-rail track design is weld-free, allowing for a simplified fabrication and an affordable price for parks, FECs, zoos and just about anyone who would like to add a children’s coaster to their operation.” By creating the weld-free track, Skyline has ensured
fabrication is done at a lower cost than traditional coasters while providing the sleek aesthetic single rail coasters are known for.
