Disney unveils Haunted Mansion-themed bar on Treasure ship

Disney Cruise Line has unveiled the first-ever Haunted Mansion-themed bar on the new Disney Treasure ship, which sets sail late next year. Called the Haunted Mansion Parlor, the drinking establishment will immerse visitors in “the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga, bringing this fan- favorite lore to life in a whole new way”, Disney said in a blog post.

Guests will enjoy craft cocktails, exclusive merchandise, themed decor (including the iconic wallpaper), and characters from the Haunted Mansion attraction at Disney parks and “some new seafaring arrivals”.

“The one-of-a-kind experience will be a swinging wake unlike any other, that of a jovial captain who entered the ghostly realm after a disastrous dinner with his beloved fiancé,” said Disney.

The design is based on a first-class drawing room on a classic cruise liner from the golden age. It is inspired by the original Haunted Mansion attraction with a nautical twist.

Exclusive merchandise on the Disney Treasure includes an eerie music box rumoured to belong to the captain’s bride-to-be, a parlor clock inspired by the old grandfather clock from the Disney parks attraction, and a haunted mirror.

Creepy cocktails on the ship include Sympathetic Libations, which includes sour cherry and blood orange flavours, Ghoulish Delight, which combines ube fudge, oat milk and tapioca pearls, and a signature tequila-based drink that contains a secret message.

The Haunted Mansion Parlor is one of several Disney parks-themed venues coming to the Disney Treasure.

These include Skipper Society, a lounge based on the Jungle Cruise attraction, and Periscope Pub, themed to the 1954 film 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the former Walt Disney World attraction.

Zootopia land to open at Shanghai Disneyland

The Zootopia-themed land at Shanghai Disneyland is now confirmed to open in December. It will be the eighth land within the seven-year-old theme park. Based on the Walt Disney Animation Studios animated film “Zootopia,” which released in 2016, the new land will include a new attraction, Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, where guests can hop on an all- terrain cruiser powered by a trackless ride system in an action-filled chase through Zootopia’s different districts. Other themed entertainment experiences and character moments include the Zootopia Park Apartments, where a lineup of animal residents will interact with each other and guests throughout the day, appearing from time to time, in a show.

Guests will also get the chance to spend at Fashions by Fru Fru, a merchandise store owned by Fru Fru, a Zootopia fashionista. The land will also offer a range of casual walk-up dining options.

The official opening of the section has been set for Dec. 20. But before that, cast members have begun extensive preparations to test and fine-tune all of the experiences in Zootopia for operational readiness. In the weeks prior to its official opening, Disney cast members and other invited participants will test selected offerings on specific dates.
