I
mmersive entertainment is on the brink of a transformation, pushing the boundaries of reality and imagination. We delve into the world of HOLOGATE, a trailblazer reshaping the landscape of interactive
experiences. From pioneering multiplayer systems and revolutionary free-roam VR to futuristic mini golf, HOLOGATE is at the forefront of redefining leisure entertainment. HOLOGATE’s global footprint spans over 450 installations across 42
countries, firmly establishing it as the largest VR network on a global scale. Its achievement of 20 million players is primarily attributed to the resounding success of their pioneering multiplayer VR system, the HOLOGATE ARENA. Not only is this system HOLOGATE’s best-selling product, but it is also the world’s most successful turnkey multiplayer VR system.
Munich-based Leif Petersen founded HOLOGATE in 2013 with the vision to
make VR accessible to everyone. At the heart of his mission lay the ambition to craft unrivaled VR experiences, enabling individuals to escape from reality and venture into the extraordinary realms they’ve only ever imagined. These shared, social experiences encourage people to step away from their couches and embrace entertainment venues, fostering enduring memories of quality time spent with friends and family. This mission is further enhanced by an exceptional content platform and
a constantly expanding library of exclusive games. These encompass both competitive and cooperative experiences catering to a wide spectrum of audiences, from kids to adults, newcomers to seasoned veterans. A stellar example of HOLOGATE’s recent success is Ghostbusters VR
Academy. Developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures VR, fans now have the opportunity to enlist at the all-new, fully-immersive Ghostbusters training academy, embarking on a journey to become real life Ghostbusters. They can fulfill a lifelong dream of operating iconic ghostbusting equipment in two distinct games offered across two HOLOGATE platforms: the pioneering multiplayer VR platform, HOLOGATE ARENA, and the premium VR motion simulator, HOLOGATE BLITZ. Jake Zim, senior vice president, Virtual Reality at Sony Pictures
Entertainment, spoke enthusiastically about the experience: “Ghostbusters VR Academy takes full advantage of HOLOGATE’s location-based entertainment technology to immerse players in the Ghostbusters universe with friends and family, it’s an absolute thrill for Ghostbusters fans old and new. Players can strap on a proton pack and operate a brand-new hovercraft version of the ECTO to train to be a real Ghostbuster in an amazing academy setting, complete with iconic characters like Slimer and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man. This story-expanding, fantasy-fulfilling experience is only possible in virtual reality.”
