in southern China - and with its opening, it means that Warner Bros World in Abu Dhabi will no longer hold the title of world’s largest indoor theme park, as per the Guinness World Records. Indeed, in an unprecedented feat, Chimelong Spaceship now holds no less than seven Guinness World Records. As the park gears up for its grand opening, more than
150,000 marine animals of more than 400 species are expected to call Chimelong Spaceship home. Among these will be orcas - as part of Chimelong Spaceship’s Whale Universe - living in the park’s 12.4 million gallon main tank, which can generate 10.5-foot waves, making it the world’s largest indoor artificial wave. Whale Universe is just one of 15 themed zones,
another of which is called Coral Secret, which features the world’s largest living coral reef exhibit, in 10 specialised tanks of more than 626,000 gallons in total. Chimelong Spaceship will introduce guests to an awe-
inspiring underwater world on a scale never seen before. But let’s not forget that this place is a theme park as well - so what about the rides? The rides are found in the park’s Universe Paradise.
They’re as varied and impressive as the many components of the aquarium facility - and with theming that ties in perfectly. Chimelong Spaceship boasts China’s first real
underwater submarine ride, Deep Sea Submarine - a submarine dark ride supplied by Mack Rides - plus no less than 11 Zamperla rides within a collection of themed carnival rides and play areas. Then there is what is now the world’s largest
motion simulator attraction, the epic Bermuda Storm. Implemented by Brogent Technologies, Bermuda Storm experience accommodates up to 304 riders on a single motion-base platform, watching on what the park has declared to be the world’s largest curved projection screen, at 1,682 square metres.
The theme park is located next to the 1,250-room
Chimelong Spaceship Hotel and is part of the same resort as Chimelong Ocean Kingdom, which ranked as one of the world’s top 10 most-visited theme parks before the pandemic. Legacy Entertainment has designed multiple other
parks in the region, including Shanghai Haicang Ocean Park and Lotte World Adventure Busan in Korea.

Chimelong Spaceship boasts 397,064 square metres of enclosed area (4,271,783 square feet)
With a combined total of 75,350,969 litres of tanks (16,574,889 gallons), Chimelong surpasses its own record established at the neighbouring Chimelong Ocean Kingdom in 2014. The facility houses 38 aquarium tanks, home to nearly 300 species.
Breaking its own record once again, the park’s largest tank has a capacity of 56,450,136 litres (12,417,288 gallons).
The park’s record-breaking main tank is equipped with hardware capable of generating waves measuring up to 3.2m (10’ feet 6” inches).
Spread over 10 specialised coral tanks, the 2,848,562 litre (626,595 gallons) exhibit is the largest of its kind.
Boasting a capacity of 304 riders on a single platform, the Bermuda Storm simulator ride is unprecedented in scale.
Accompanying Bermuda Storm’s super-sized simulator platform is a colossal projection screen, encompassing over 1,682 square metres of surface.
