The Attractions Technology Lab (ATL) is back and better than ever! This November, immerse yourself in the latest technological innovations, custom-designed to deliver the industry's distinct requirements by the companies dedicated to serving this market. This year, the ATL delivers a higher level of collaboration than before. With additional contributions from an expanding list of partners, this Lab focuses on the power of imagination and creativity facilitated through technical collaboration. “We're excited to announce the exceptional creative service partners who have joined us on this journey,” notes Loren Barrows from the Attractions Technology Collaborative (ATC). “Good Theory Studios, Fivestone Studios, Stephen Arnold Music, and Theme Park AV have been instrumental in shaping this Attractions Technology Lab into a one-of-a-kind experience.”

Good Theory Studios and Fivestone Studios partnered to develop content specifically for the Dark Ride Lab. Demonstrating two different approaches to content creation, the artists at Good Theory Studios and Fivestone Studios have transformed the ATL vision into one-of-a-kind stunning visual realities.
Barrows notes: “In the true spirit of collaboration, both companies worked together to craft the visual
experiences that serve as our canvas for the art of technology. Their dedication to detail and design has added a layer of intrigue and story that transformed our entire Lab.” The talents of Stephen Arnold Music have come on board to create custom music for the event. Every attraction needs talent to bring the technology behind the magic to life. Stephen Arnold Music's soundscape permeates the entire Lab, facilitated by a system designed by Theme Park AV in partnership with several manufacturers. Using gear provided by Holoplot, Alcorn McBride, Q-SYS, and Powersoft, ThemePark AV developed an advanced audio ecosystem that is expertly suited to meet the demands of any dark ride environment. The Attractions Technology Lab was created to showcase technologies designed for the needs of attractions while advancing innovation through collaboration. Australia to see Monopoly-themed park
Universal unveils first permanent horror experience
Universal Destinations & Experiences has released details of its first ever permanent immersive horror experience. Named Universal Horror Unleashed, the attraction will be located at Area15 in Las Vegas, US, and brings a number of the company’s biggest properties to an immersive attraction.
Universal says the venue will be continuously updated with seasonal events and will feature one-of-a-kind experiences. Page Thompson, president of new ventures at Universal Destinations, said: “Universal Horror Unleashed is another way we are using our unique style of horror storytelling to engage fans of this genre.
“We look forward to bringing frightful fun to Las Vegas year-round.” Universal Horror Unleashed is the anchor tenant of the new Area15 entertainment district, an 80,000sq.m space located on Rancho Drive.

A Monopoly-themed park is opening this month in Melbourne, Australia.
The 1,650sq.m attraction will feature a 4D theatre experience and a chance wheel, where punters can win Monopoly money that can be spent at the park’s café or retail store. Monopoly Dreams Melbourne
will be twice the size of the first Monopoly-themed indoor park which opened in Hong Kong in 2019 and will feature two areas: Monopoly City and Monopoly Mansion, with the experiences ranging from 60-90 minutes.
Visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a total of 15 unique attractions.
