PlayNeo

New product development Markus was pleased to be able to invent what he calls, “the world’s most immersive ride”, the Dome Ride Theater. which combines a full media driven sphere with a rotating and tilting motion platform for 80 guests.

this winter before it moves further to Dammam in Saudi Arabia.”

In 2021 Attraktion! began developing its second touring exhibition, Dino Camp. Dino Camp will be launched in spring 2022 with a first site in the German speaking market, before touring globally.

In Dino Camp, visitors worldwide can interact directly with dinosaurs for the very first time, and instead of encountering cheap-looking plastic dinosaurs, they can meet them digitally, in high resolution in a photo real environment. This is, says Markus, “the world’s first pure digital and immersive Dinosaur exhibition.”

In the story, visitors are on a tour of a recently discovered unique prehistoric world that was only exposed by an earthquake. Here, dinosaurs have survived, undiscovered by mankind for millions of years. Visitors start from the research camp and study different types of dinosaurs in protected habitats and have exciting tasks to solve in which we interact with various dinosaurs, until they get

to a large clearing where they can experience breathtaking scenery live in monumental size amidst the most exciting dinosaurs, and even interact with them. “Future scientists” use the most modern VR systems supported by special effects and movement systems to study dinosaurs down to the last detail. A Dinocam mounted on a Velociraptor allows visitors to take part in a prey tour in the jungle and experience the world through the eyes of the Velociraptor.

Back at the camp, visitors can experience the discovery of the Dino Refuge again for themselves in the 270° Explorer, on a jeep ride with a motion platform. The Explorer allows visitors to relive the adventure live with the scientist Erica Hunt when the dinosaurs were discovered immediately after the earthquake.

In the Playoke Camp, meanwhile, kids can imitate Dino moves themselves under supervision and compete with others to imitate the coolest Dinomoves!

While Attraktion! focuses on the media SFX and globally unique transparent LED sphere, the ride is realised together with Intamin Amusement Rides. The first project is under construction in the middle east and should open towards end of 2022. The Explorer 5D is a unique cave style immersive simulator where people stand on a motion platform instead of sitting. There is no need for 3D glasses, says Markus, “as we have the immersive 270 degrees projection, which is much better at creating an immersive world for guests than 3D/4D cinemas.” So far, the company is focusing this product on zoos and aquariums and has them installed, for example, in Jakarta Aquarium and in Zoo Schmiding in Austria, which is nearby the Attraktion! office. Asked what drives him, Markus is very clear: “I always try to invent something that has never been done before”, he says. Rather than sit still, the company used the pandemic to develop a series of new attraction formats. “Every park and entertainment venue lost the chance to plan. Nobody knew how long they would have to close for, and how often they might have to close. This makes it very complicated for all suppliers to plan installations and production capacities. Luckily with our big portfolio we were able to cope with it and use the time to invent new products.” PlayNeo was its first new product during this time and represents the company’s new interactive group gaming universe, where players can free roam without VR glasses for the very first time. Markus has made the product as accessible as possible for operators of all sizes: “In the Play Cabanas, we offer PlayNeo in three setups – the box, the trapeze or the 360 degrees arena,” he says. Play Cabanas start with four players and can accommodate 16 players as standard with more on request. What’s more, says Markus, is “our unique new interaction devices allow the creation of immersive walkthroughs and new forms of dark rides without the need of expensive tracking systems. “Now, after almost 10 years we have reached a great portfolio of replicable easy to setup attractions for small and medium size parks and FECs which we are very proud of. When I compare the market with other media-based attraction suppliers, I strongly believe we have the biggest variety of unique immersive experiences, with patented products nobody else has.” In its 10th year in 2022, Attraktion! will launch two new patent pending attraction
