Nielsen said: “We are extremely proud and humbled that so many guests have visited Djurs Sommerland in 2021. With the prospect of continued corona restrictions and demands for corona passes, our hope up to the start of the season was that we could reach around 700,000 guests. That we then break the visitor record with 820,113 guests, it is a dream come true.” Commenting on the 103,629 guests that came during the autumn holidays, Nielsen said: “That is more guests than in the biggest weeks of the high season.” There is a lot to look forward to when Djurs Sommerland opens for a new season on 30 April 2022 too. The Park is investing over DKK 100 million in a new, large theme country, Dinosaurland with 25 full-size dinosaurs and three new rides. Nielsen explained: “We have been working on this project for several years, and we are very much looking forward to our guests experiencing the new Dinosaurland in 2022. In addition to lifelike dinosaurs and a unique thematisation, there will also be some real good family rides – both a family slide, a jeep safari and a huge dinosaur playground. Construction of the new Dinosaurland has been underway for more than a year, and work will continue until the season opens at the end of April 2022.

10 Tornado Springs opens


Danish theming firm MK Themed Attractions assisted UK family park Paultons Park in getting its brand-new themed area, Tornado Springs, ready for 12 April by producing and delivering customised props for the entire area. 

A Missouri native, Jackson earned his MBA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He began his career as brand manager with Procter & Gamble and then spent several years with Orlando- based Darden Restaurants as brand manager and marketing director of Olive Garden and LongHorn Steakhouse restaurant brands. During his previous career in marketing, Jackson’s work received numerous awards and accolades, including several Cannes Lions from the International Festival of Creativity in Cannes, France.

During the largest period of growth and expansion in its history, LEGOLAND Florida Resort rebranded itself as “built for kids to take the lead” under Jackson’s direction, capitalising on its unique position as a destination focused on the imagination and creativity of children in a region filled with some of the world’s most popular theme parks. Under Jackson’s leadership, the Florida Resort’s grew to include three onsite hotels in addition to its Theme Park and Water Park.
