Located in Nashville, Tennessee, and owned by Ryman Hospitality, the SoundWaves waterpark at the Gaylord Opryland Resort as part of their $90 million expansion project. It is scheduled to be open to guests in late 2018. ADG has been contracted to design and build the featured water attractions at SoundWaves. SoundWaves will be available exclusively to hotel guests and will cover over 217,000 square feet including 111,000 square feet of indoor space spanning three levels, and 106,000 square feet of outdoor area. When completed, it will be a four-acre luxury indoor/outdoor waterpark with dedicated recreation zones for adults, young children, and families. The park’s three separate levels will be arranged vertically on three separate levels, tied together by a major circulation path that also facilitates linkages between the indoor and outdoor parks. Year-round indoor attractions include a ProSlide


slide tower, Double FlowRider, rapid and lazy rivers, an activity pool with rock climbing, obstacle course, and basketball. There will be restaurants, an exclusive adults-only indoor pool, bar and lounge, and private cabana rentals. The total capacity of the indoor portion is 747 seats, including 224 seats in the general indoor waterpark, 70 seats for the indoor kids and toddler pools, and 81 seats on the sun deck. Outdoors there will be a 315,000 gallon wave pool and giant LED movie screen, a 45.5 foot (14 m) slide tower, a kids pool with a multi-level play structure, multiple dining options, an exclusive adults- only outdoor pool, bars and lounging areas. Private cabana rentals will be offered. Total outdoor capacity is 866 seats including 192 seats in the wave pool/general outdoor waterpark and 162 seats around the kids pool/multi level play structure.


A 350-room Great Wolf Lodge is under construction on an 18-acre site outside Scottsdale, Arizona, adjacent to Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, located within the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community’s Talking Stick Entertainment District. Great Wolf Lodge Arizona is due to open by year-end 2019, becoming the company’s 18th resort in North America. It will be a year-round family destination filled with attractions and amenities for all ages. One of the highlights is an 85,000 square foot (7,897 sq m) indoor waterpark, heated to a comfortable 84º F (29º C) and featuring a variety of body slides, tube slides, and raft rides from WhiteWater West, activity pools and splash areas.


Neuman Pools will oversee the construction of both the indoor water park and outdoor pool areas. The property will also include a restaurant, lounge, meeting space, MagiQuest, and other amenities. Developers recently announced plans for a $2 billion entertainment park outside of Columbus, Ohio, in Delaware County. Planet Oasis is being billed as the “ultimate entertainment experience,” according to developer David Glimcher. The completed park is expected to be 350 acres, making it 265 acres larger than Disneyland.
