World of Rides celebrates 50 years with new distribution agreements

World of Rides, the longest established UK family-owned manufacturer and distributor of children’s rides is celebrating its 50th anniversary during 2019. This comes just as the company has been officially invited to distribute both the Falgas and Cogan premier ranges of award-winning kiddie rides in the UK, in addition to their current ranges. These two additional ranges will

also include the sales, supply of spare parts, servicing, repair and BACTA-ADIPS safety testing. According to owner David Robinson, two of the most popular models that have been requested so

far this year are the Three Horse Gallopers Carousel from Falgas and the Twin Seat Lifting Rocket from Cogan. “Both these models are brimming with safety

features as well as the latest sound, lighting and feature bodywork attract features… and are already high on the wish-lists of some of the industries leading buyers and operators! “The Eurogames battery cars remain

as firm favourites with all operators, due to their reliability, better batteries, consistently high earnings… and legendary after-sales-service!” said a spokesperson.

Return of Merlin Entertainments partnership with Coca- Cola Great Britain

M

erlin Entertainments, the UK’s largest visitor attraction operator, has announced

the return of its partnership with Coca- Cola Great Britain, offering consumers 50% off entry to some of the UK’s best- known family attractions, in exchange for their used plastic bottles. After positive consumer feedback and

demand following the 2018 launch of the initiative, 23 ‘reverse vending’ machines will now be available for people to recycle any 500ml plastic bottle, with those who deposit their empty bottles being rewarded with a voucher to receive 50% off entry at 30 Merlin attractions. The machines will be available at the

entrances of Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, with Warwick Castle Resort and SEA LIFE Blackpool now also participating inthe recycling scheme.

Sandra Hazel, head of Force for

Good at Merlin Entertainments, said: “We are delighted to extend this initiative after great success in 2018. We care about recycling and know that our customers do too. This partnership is a great way to work together to protect our planet and is just one of the initiatives we are invested in to increase recycling at our attractions.” The announcement comes after

Merlin Entertainments conducted a broader review of single use plastics across the business, announcing the phasing out of plastic straws at all attractions globally by the end of 2018. The reverse vending machines will be

in place until 17th October 2019 at Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, Chessington World of Adventures Resort and the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort and until 31st March 2020 at all other participating attractions.
