Leading attractions featured In addition to the expansive trade show floor, IAAPA Expo Asia attendees also took part in extensive learning and networking opportunities and special events. Joe Schott, president and CEO, Shanghai Disney Resort, delivered a keynote speech during the Expo’s Leadership Breakfast on 13 June. In addition, exclusive events took place at


leading atractions in Shanghai, including the Opening Night Reception in the evening of 12 June, when 500+ industry professionals mingled with each other and enjoyed lively entertainment at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park, the newest and award-winning marine park in Shanghai. Other featured attractions included Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Natural History Museum, and Hello Kitty Shanghai Times during EDUTours, and the Shanghai Dungeon during the Young Professional Reception.


New trends explored IAAPA Expo Asia 2019 offered more than 10 general education sessions with in-depth programmes led by leading industry professionals from around the world, including executives from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, Universal Beijing Resort, OCT Happy Valley, AECOM, Whitewater, Sanderson, and more. Best Exhibit Awards


IAAPA, the global trade association for the attractions industry, presented the first annual Best Exhibit Awards at IAAPA Expo Asia 2019 to honour and recognise outstanding booth presentations.


A panel of judges, made up of IAAPA industry facility members, selected the winners based on three categories of booth size: 9-27 square meters, 36-72 square meters, and 81 square meters and larger. Judges evaluated booth design, branding, staffing, and overall appeal.


The winners were:


Category 1: 9-27 Square Metres Extreme Engineering – Booth #1146 (United States)


Category 2: 36-72 Square Metres Guangzhou Style Arts Co., Ltd. – Booth #3216 (China)


Category 3: 81 Square Metres and Larger Pentair – Booth #2430 (China)
