“Having intuitive entrances are key to making the entry


process as simple as possible. The parks and attractions that our industry builds are filled with amazing sites, a plethora of sounds and many people coming out to enjoy them…sensory overload. When we design the entry access control point and the technology at these, we have to be simple. We need to leverage concepts and experiences that our guests are already familiar with to quickly allow them to understand how they can interact with the access control point and enter in as efficient of a way as possible. For example, we can leverage the experience like a credit card payment terminal that our guests use day in and day out in their normal life to design an unattended access control point. an attraction, and allows charging the customer for any extra time spent before exit. It is used specifically for attractions which are priced based on a predetermined lapse of time (“free time”), which could be extended by the guest. The four-turnstile format obeys to attractions, such as laser tag arenas, where guests spend some time gearing up after entering the attraction, before the actual playing time begins. The future “Consumers are in love with technology and like the idea of everything from biometric authentication to voice-activated mobile apps and robots that will help them with their visit,” says Omnico’s Mel Taylor.
