Hot Ice returned for the 2019 season on 4 July with an amazing new production, Utopian. Park World was there to see the story unfold

ot Ice has been the sparkling highlight of Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s live entertainment calendar for over 80 years and this year’s show
didn’t disappoint. Utopian has been created to be as perfect as live performance will allow. Every cast member has been chosen for their unique ability, their character and their love of the sport as an art form. They have all competed at the highest of levels on the international competitive circuit and at world-class levels. They are at the peak of their careers and perform to the highest possible levels. The costumes have been designed and created
especially for this production and have been carefully crafted by a team of perfectionists. Every feather has been handpicked for every headdress and been dyed to match the fabric used for each costume. The lighting has been designed and created to enhance
every glide, mesmerising the audience and providing a dream-like quality to enhance each performance. The music for this show has been designed and written by
the very best in the world of music. The score is enticing and intriguing, beautifully executed at every level by the most talented of musicians who have a unique understanding for the unparalleled world of sport performed as living art. The choreography is a unique interpretation of the
exceptionally complex and fascinating score relying on the quality and talent of every individual performer. This is why Hot Ice is so unique. It is created and choreographed for the cast utilising their remarkable skills. The choreography is created by the immensely talented Oula Jaaskelainen who himself was a world and Olympic
