RRDD Cierre defi nitivo de bancas no registradas
En una carta dirigida a la Federación Nacional de Bancas (Fenabancas), Teófi lo Quico Tabar, Director de Casinos y Juegos de Azar de la República Dominicana, informó sobre el cierre defi nitivo de las bancas de apuestas que no se acogieron al plan de regularización y que continuaron operando al margen de las disposiciones legales. En el documento, el funcionario entregó
un listado actualizado de las bancas, puntos de ventas y agencias, identifi cando aquellas que siguen abiertas sin el registro legal. En ese contexto, Tabar indicó que comenzaron el proceso de cierre en coordinación con el Ministerio Público. El ente regulador de juegos de azar dominicano, que es dependencia del Ministerio de Hacienda, ha advertido en meses pasados sobre la eventual incautación, clausura y sometimientos a la acción de la justicia a los negocios de apuestas que no estuvieran debidamente regularizados. De acuerdo con informaciones, el listado preliminar de las
bancas que se acogieron al proceso de regulación se encuentra registrado en el portal web
www.casinos.gob.do, y que la misma está clasifi cada por provincias y municipios.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC Regulator closes unregistered betting outlets
In a letter addressed to betting outlet retailers, Federación Nacional de Bancas (Fenabancas), Teófi lo Quico Tabar, Director of Casinos and Gambling of the Dominican Republic, addressed fi nal closure of any betting outlets – locally known as Bancas – that did not accept the country’s regularization plan and continued to operate outside the legal provisions in defi ance of the law.
In the document, Tabar delivered an updated list of bancas, points of sale and agencies, identifying those that remain open without legal registration. In this context, the regulator indicated that the closure process of the outlawed outlets had begun in coordination with the Public Justice Ministry. The Dominican gambling regulator, which is a dependency of the Ministry of Finance, has issued warnings in recent months about the eventual equipment seizure, closure of
businesses and submission to judicial powers for action of betting businesses that that did not duly follow the regularization process. According to information, the preliminary list of bancas that complied with the regulation process is registered on the www.
casinos.gob.do website, and is classifi ed by location in provinces and municipalities.
