NOVOMATIC installs NOVOVISION system for Iceland lottery venues
NOVOMATIC has completed the rollout of its NOVOVISION casino management system for the University of Iceland Lottery (UIL) following an international tender process.
The system has been implemented across 19 venues operating around 500 gaming terminals. The installation was completed in early December.
NOVOVISION provides a range of functions including slots accounting, ticket-in/ticket-out (TITO), anti-money laundering tools, business intelligence and a staff management application. The platform also provides the IT infrastructure for UIL’s venues, with additional functionality planned for later phases. Players can now redeem certain winnings online through the UIL mobile application directly to their bank accounts.
Fabian Schnötzinger, Market Coordination NBS at NOVOMATIC, said the project required close cooperation between technical teams to integrate the system with existing operations.
UIL CEO Bryndís Hrafnkelsdóttir said the platform would improve operational insight while supporting responsible gaming management.

Industry pioneer Gary Platt remembered
Gaming industry pioneer Gary Platt, whose ideas helped shape modern casino seating, has died aged 100. Platt is widely recognised for
introducing seating in front of slot machines in the late 1950s, a
change that prioritised player comfort at a time when most players stood while gaming. The approach became standard across casino floors and helped influence the development of specialist gaming furniture. His ideas later supported the creation of Gary Platt Manufacturing, established by Bob Yabroff, which became one of the industry’s first dedicated gaming seating companies. Colleagues remembered Platt for both his industry insight and his approachable personality. He was known for maintaining strong relationships across the sector and for encouraging collaboration between operators and suppliers.
The company said his legacy continues to shape its design philosophy: focusing on player comfort as a key part of the gaming experience.
