Coljuegos crea el RIC para controlar la importación de tragamonedas
Chile Coljuegos implementó un nuevo mecanismo regulatorio que obliga a registrar las máquinas electrónicas tragamonedas antes de su importación, con el objetivo de fortalecer el control del mercado y evitar que estos equipos terminen en operaciones ilegales. La medida quedó establecida mediante la Resolución 8594 de 2025, que creó el Registro Único de Importadores y Comercializadores (RIC). A partir de 2026, todas las máquinas electrónicas tragamonedas (METS) deberán estar registradas antes de ingresar al país, lo que permitirá rastrear su destino y prevenir el desvío hacia estructuras no autorizadas que afectan las rentas de la salud.
Durante 2025, los juegos localizados se consolidaron como el principal aporte al sistema de salud subsidiado, con transferencias por COP 378.268 millones (US$102 millones), equivalentes al 39% del recaudo total del sector.
Actualmente, Colombia cuenta con cerca de 109.000 máquinas electrónicas tragamonedas legales, operando en más de 3.700 establecimientos autorizados en todo el país. Según Coljuegos, las importaciones de METS superaron los US$22,5 millones en 2024, lo que refuerza la necesidad de una fiscalización más estricta. Los importadores y comercializadores tendrán 45 días calendario para inscribirse en el RIC, contados desde la publicación de la Resolución 20260001234 del 26 de enero de 2026 mediante un trámite que deberá realizarse mediante el formulario disponible en el sitio web de Coljuegos. Además, dentro de los 10 días posteriores a la nacionalización de la mercancía, los importadores deberán informar a la entidad el destino final de cada elemento de juego.

Coljuegos creates new regulations to control slot machine imports
Coljuegos - Colombia’s Gambling regulator - has implemented a new regulatory mechanism that requires the registration of electronic slot machines before importation, with the aim of strengthening market control and preventing this equipment from ending up in illegal operations.
The measure was established by Resolution 8594 of 2025, which created Registro Único de Importadores y Comercializadores (RIC) - Single Registry of Importers and Marketers. From 2026, all electronic slot machines (METS) will have to be registered before entering the country to make it possible to track their destination and prevent diversion to unauthorized structures that affect health sector revenue. During 2025 localized games – slots and casinos - were consolidated as the main contribution to the subsidized health system, with transfers of COP 378,268 million (US$102 million), equivalent to 39% of the sector’s total collection.
Currently, Colombia has about 109,000 legal electronic slot machines, operating in more than 3,700 authorized establishments throughout the country. According to Coljuegos, METS imports exceeded US$22.5 million in 2024, reinforcing the need for stricter control. Importers and marketers will have 45 calendar days for RIC registration, counted from the publication of Resolution 20260001234 of January 26, 2026, through a procedure that must be carried out through the forms available on the Coljuegos website. In addition, within 10 days after the nationalization of the merchandise, importers must inform the entity of the destination of each game element.
