gaming platforms, from a substantial slots floor to a dynamic table game offering, and to collaborate with leading suppliers on new branded concepts such as Aristocrat on the Square. It is also one of London’s strongest poker destinations, with a dedicated poker presence that attracts both regular players and international visitors.
Matt: Alex, please give us a quick ‘tour’ of the casinos in the group. Alex: Metropolitan Gaming operates seven casinos across the UK, each with its own character but united by a consistent commitment to quality, service and innovation.
Our flagship is Empire Casino, located in the heart of Leicester Square. As the largest venue in the estate, Empire is both our most commercially significant property and a platform for innovation. Its scale allows us to showcase a broad mix of
In London, we also operate The Sportsman, Metropolitan Mayfair, and Park Lane Club. These premium venues offer a more intimate and elevated environment, combining high-quality table gaming, curated slots offerings and strong hospitality credentials. Poker remains an important part of the mix in select venues, reinforcing our reputation for delivering well-managed, professional gaming experiences across multiple formats.
Beyond the capital, our regional portfolio includes Alea Nottingham, Alea Glasgow, and Manchester 235. These venues serve as
entertainment destinations within their respective cities, offering a balanced mix of slots, electronic gaming and live tables. Nottingham is home to a Marco Pierre White restaurant, while Manchester 235 features a restaurant by James Martin, strengthening the integration between gaming and hospitality.
Across the estate, we focus on maintaining a strong and varied gaming proposition - from slots and electronic gaming to live tables and poker, while working closely with leading brands and suppliers to introduce fresh concepts and formats. That blend of variety, partnership and innovation is central to how we continue to evolve the Metropolitan experience.
Matt: London is obviously a very popular choice for casinos as a place to go for a big night out; what can you tell us about your London venues? Alex: London is one of the most competitive and vibrant gaming markets in the world, and our venues are positioned accordingly. Empire Casino, in the heart of Leicester Square, benefits from significant domestic and international footfall and offers a broad mix of slots, electronic gaming, live table games such as Blackjack and Roulette, and a strong poker presence. It’s an energetic, high-volume venue that appeals to tourists and regular players alike
Our premium London venues, Metropolitan Mayfair, and Park Lane Club, deliver a more refined and elevated experience, with a focus on elegant surroundings, personalised service and high-quality table gaming. While at Sportsman, the recent introduction of The Arena, offering contemporary Indian cuisine, has strengthened our hospitality proposition and helped attract new audiences into the venue. In a highly competitive market, we focus on clear positioning, strong partnerships and a varied gaming mix to ensure each property stands out while operating to the same high standards across the estate.
