A LOOK BACK – AND FORWARD A look back – and forward
Key members and companies across the iGaming sector look back at their 2021 highlights and place their 2022 predictions for the future of the online gaming industry
FSB Chris Graham, Head of Marketing
2021 has been a transformative year for FSB. We made a number of new global partnerships across various continents and also successfully launched our retail product. As we position ourselves for success in North America and Latin America, we have continued to build out dedicated teams in each market. Companywide, we have increased our headcount by 89% and moved into new international headquarters in London. The biggest highlight, though, was securing our first World Lottery Association client in the shape of the Hungarian State Lottery backed by SZRT Slovakia. This multi-year partnership launched in November and pushed FSB into a new segment of the market.
The entire team is excited about building on the transformative 2021 by driving further growth in 2022. We have a number of new partnerships that we will be announcing in Q1
that span several continents. This includes the migration of a tier one operator onto our platform. I would say we are most excited about our continued progress in North America. We have established operational hubs in New Jersey and Nevada and will keep rapidly building our US team led by our VP of Business Development, Mike Ermen, and our
VP of Operations, Bob Akeret. We have already secured our fi rst US partnership in South Dakota and will be announcing further partnerships throughout 2022. Continuing the North American theme, it will be fascinating to see what the landscape looks like at the end of 2022. The introduction of sports betting to New York should be fascinating and competitive amongst the participating parties. The demand for better technology and more functional platforms will surely be ever more prominent in 2022 as operators turn their back on legacy tech. This is where we hope to mop up with our empowering platform allowing operators to take control of their margin strategy, bonusing costs, trading output and data feed proliferation. Sports betting expertise will also be vital and with over a decade’s experience across the globe, that’s certainly an area in which we shine.
Continent 8 Technologies David Black, Managing Director EMEA
My fi rst prediction for 2022 is that ICE London and the other industry events scheduled throughout the year will go ahead at some point despite the emergence of the Omicron strain of Coronavirus and the impact this is having in countries around the world. In that spirit of optimism, we fi nish 2021 and welcome 2022 – but what will the new year bring? I believe that we will see continued M&A activity but potentially with new actors on the stage as mainstream entertainment and betting/gaming continue to assimilate. The US might prove fertile ground for deal fl ow on this basis, but I predict some very big deals with a US fl avour in the rest of the world, too. To this end Continent 8 has increased investment in world class Project/Programme

Management people around the world and increased site count from 69 to 83 in 2021. This gives us the expertise and the scale to be a reliable infrastructure partner for merging parties across geographies and services in the critical phase of post deal planning and integration. In a post-pandemic 2022, the industry will have to ensure the continuation and enhancement of robust endpoint security practices in response to the rising number of security threats being faced each day. Sadly the scale and complexity of the daily threats we all face such as DDoS attacks will also inevitably increase in 2022. Once again Continent 8 will be well placed as a reliable security partner through continued investment
in our Secure product family, including our full suite of Managed Security Services. I conclude this year as I do every year when asked for predictions. I can state with absolute certainty, Continent 8 will dedicate itself to exceeding customer expectations throughout 2022. Thank you to our customers, partners, and the Continent 8 team for a great 2021, and I look forward to 2022!
