Oracle brings OPERA Cloud to the market

Casino International: Tanya, thank you for joining us. What’s your background, how did you come to Oracle? Tanya Pratt: I am Vice President of OPERA Cloud strategy and product management. In addition to my team and engineering counterparts, I help bring OPERA Cloud to life and to the market. a company called Delta hotels and resorts. It was a Canadian only company in the 90’s and is now part of the Mariott conglomerate. I did hotel operations and went through the ranks. I started at the front desk being the first line of defence, I would say, for guests where their experience starts and ends. I always say that when we work on our product, we need to remember who we’re developing this stuff for. It’s not people like me, or people sitting in a corporate office, its for those people who have to stand in front of the guests every day. From there, 10 years into it, after a little bit of operations, sales and marketing and revenue management, I pivoted towards IT. At that point Delta was owned by Fairmont Hotels & Resorts and became now a global company. So I pivoted my role from hotel operations into IT because the company at that time was looking to go through a significant digital transformation. They felt who better to lead the transformation within the business than somebody who knows how to operate and communicate from within. They pulled me out of operations, put me into IT, and then I spent
