eing English, I’m inclined to talk about the weather, even with everything that’s happening in the industry. But Steve Wynn’s apparent fall from grace even trumps a bit of snow in Britain, it would seem. It might sound silly, but when I
was a boy I didn’t have to be told to ‘keep it in my pants’. I worked that out for myself; there was no sense of entitlement to anything, and certainly not of anything someone else had that I might want. Every day now, new allegations of sexual misbehaviour come steaming up, and every day I want to hold my head in my hands and say “Seriously? You couldn’t keep your dick in your trousers for five minutes?” The allegations against Wynn are surprising in a lot
of ways – I think we all expect intelligent people to act so, and that is certainly not always the case. Of course, he is innocent until proven guilty and is just one of many high-profile men currently under investigation. If it’s true, it has to be said that it will be incredibly disappointing to say the least. Gaming comes under fire so frequently and from so many directions, we really do not need to give our critics any fresh ammunition. So my words to you this month, if you are male and
working in gaming, is keep your dick in your pants. If in doubt, keep it in there just in case – it’s certainly an area where erring on the side of caution is best. Our many female colleagues should be able to expect to not be harassed while working (or any other time), and not by male colleagues who should have learned from an early age how to respect and interact with women. Enjoy the issue. Comments as ever to me, below.
