Editor’s Letter W

elcome to the last issue of the year! And what a year it has been for Sign Update!

The year began with a change in ownership. The magazine bid a fond farewell to the Hinchliffe family and welcomed in a new sales and editorial team.

Midway through the year, the magazine underwent a bit of a facelift with new features introduced, lots more news added and a fresh look too.

And now to end the year, we have just launched our brand new website! This website has been designed very much with the reader in mind, as it features as much news from across the industry as possible. You’ll find news about fellow sign makers, from suppliers, news about new product launches and company appointments. Everything you need to know to keep abreast of what’s happening in the sign making world. Be sure to check it out by visiting www.signupdate.co.uk.

Another exciting launch happened earlier this month, when visitor registration for Sign & Digital UK opened. You can read more about what’s in store for this inspiring exhibition and its co-location with Printwear & Promotion LIVE! on pages 32 and 33. Next year sees the return of the Hexis Wrap Battle, which is very exciting indeed!

You’ll find two fascinating reads over on pages 44 and 45 and 50 and 51. Sign Update assistant editor, Cameron Beech, caught up with Jessie Smith of Ellis Signs to find out the many ways in which this sign company lights up the North East. She also headed out on the road to visit Duncan Jeffries and Brett Newman of Hybrid Services at their HQ in Crewe to find out more about the supplier’s heritage of continuous innovation.

Also in this issue, you can discover the latest sustainable products from the likes of Kavalan, Innotech and Venture Banners. This is a hot topic at present and these suppliers are keen to highlight the varying ways in which you present a more sustainable offering to your customers.

I hope you pay our new website a visit and enjoy this month’s issue.
