Guardian Exhibition & Display on growth path with Vanguard VKR3200-HS installation
G
uardian Exhibition & Display has launched full-scale production on Vanguard Europe’s VKR3200-HS digital roll-to-roll printer installed at its purpose-built headquarters, near Southend, Essex.
Anthony Booty, managing director of Guardian Exhibition & Display said: “The Vanguard will be generating the bulk of the extra revenue. It has expanded my mind as to what we can do in different markets. We’re already seeing enquiries and many new orders from outside our traditional markets, such as fitting out offices and showrooms with large vinyls and wallpaper. If we carry on at this rate, the machine will pay for itself in 18 months. By taking printing in-house, we have saved 75% of the previous costs.” Vanguard has already established an important presence in the UK with flatbed installations. The VKR3200-HS deal – the first in the UK for a roll-to-roll machine from Vanguard – was handled by Andy McGuinness, managing director of SEDO – Large Format Solutions, the partner of Vanguard Europe’s UK distributor Westcoast.

Mr Booty continued: “It was a faultless demonstration and installation. One week’s training and we were up and running. Everything we were told would happen did and on time. We have been blown away by everything. We chose a four-colour machine; the quality is absolutely brilliant and the colour vibrancy is unbelievable.
“The Vanguard VKR3200-HS is incredibly productive and will enable us to take on work at the last minute that previously we had to turn down. Now we are in charge of the whole process – from design, the printing and then the setting up at an exhibition. We also have a stitching machine for the fabric work.”
XSTONE UK installs digital cutting table from CMYUK X
STONE UK, part of the XSTONE Group, has invested in a JWEI JCUT 2131 digital cutting table
from CMYUK.
John Sulzmann, director of XSTONE UK, said: “Cutting tables in the industry are a ‘high ticket’ item and therefore cost will almost always be a factor in the decision- making process. The JWEI range offers unique exceptional value when compared with other manufacturers.” For XSTONE UK, the need to invest in a suitable cutter for the efficient manufacture of the Acustone acoustic range was an absolute must. Mr Sulzmann said: “It was vital for us to bring a quality finishing solution in-house for cutting and fabricating. We needed it to be automated to maximise production, reduce human error, and keeping costs to a minimum.” Mr Sulzmann added: “I first became aware of JWEI tables last year and was

impressed by the positive and strong feedback they received. When CMYUK announced the addition of the JWEI brand to its lineup of high-quality digital cutting equipment, this move gave me confidence for two main reasons:
the thorough vetting process I trusted CMYUK had conducted, and the reliable support I knew would be available when needed. Having collaborated with CMYUK many years, I’ve always regarded them as my go-to supplier.”
