PPDS drives new energy with record-breaking Philips Public LED wall

P

PDS and Oracle Red Bull Racing have teamed up with Vogel’s and Ruitech Solutions to create a unique, immersive event location, with MK-7 now home to a super-sized indoor dvLED wall.

Oracle Red Bull Racing has, once again, turned to trusted partner PPDS to transform the MK-7 experience. Bringing a trusted team into the mix, a custom-designed horseshoe-shaped, record breaking 46.25m wide Philips dvLED wall has been installed inside the reigning Formula 1 giants’ newly updated MK-7 headquarters in Milton Keynes. Measuring a colossal 46.25x2.75m, the Philips Public dvLED wall – understood to be the largest dvLED wall installed in an indoor events space in Europe –

was carefully constructed to provide a centrepiece to the main auditorium, and a backdrop to the growing horseshoe of F1 cars on display.

With no visible windows or natural light inside the main MK-7 event space, the Philips Public LED 7000 Series was the standout choice for Oracle Red Bull Racing, with high refresh rates, colour and brightness quality, together with a 2.4mm pixel pitch, delivering a total screen resolution of 19240x1144 for picture perfect performance and viewing experiences.

Nick Kenton, director of hospitality and events at Oracle Red Bull Racing, said: “Working with PPDS, our visions for this stunning venue have been fulfilled, with the new Philips LED wall able to deliver the cutting-edge technology and

Prosigns produces eye-catching graphics for Zehrs with Drytac media

anadian custom signage specialist, Prosigns, recently used Drytac Polar Transit Air, and Drytac ReTac Smooth 150, to produce eye-catching signs and graphics for use across several Zehrs supermarket locations as part of a wider, multi-media promotional campaign. For the signage installed on shelving and freezer units across all stores, Prosigns elected to work with Drytac Polar Transit Air. The matte white, printable vinyl features a grey removable adhesive with bubble-free application technology that makes application easy

for users. It also used Interlam Pro Matte and Lustre laminate for added protection on the signage and graphics.

As for the wall graphics, Prosigns used Drytac’s ReTac Smooth 150, a polymeric PVC film that enables users to install, remove and reposition graphics without leaving residue on the surface. The printable self-adhesive vinyl is ideal for many indoor wall graphics applications. Jason Brooks, sales manager, said: “We chose these materials due to the versatility of the product for where we were applying them, ease of application,

Xanita Print is fit for Kensington Palace A

series of displays at Kensington Palace celebrating 60 years of Turning Point charity were created for an exhibition by Antalis’ customer Cotswold Printing, using Xanita Print. All the display panels and plinths for the exhibition, housed in the newly opened Clore Learning Centre at Kensington Palace, were made from Xanita Print 10mm. Adam Soble, managing director at Cotswold Printing, said: “We’ve been using Xanita for five years, and it has become our go-to product for 2D and 3D exhibition printing. We love the versatility

of the product range; it combines a durable print surface with an incredibly strong core.”

Mr Soble opted for Xanita Print 10mm for this exhibition because of its strength and ability to be V-cut and folded to create the panels and displays. It also gave them the flexibility to adjust the display on site.

Mr Soble added: “Accessibility was an important aspect of the exhibition, and because our client wasn’t sure how high they wanted the plinths to be initially, we designed an adjustable system where
