Focus on Digital Printable Media

Digital printing is a versatile process and offers various advantages such as fast turnaround and cost-effective short runs. Over the next few pages, you can view a range of films that can be digitally printed.

Antalis Four new PVC-free digital wallcoverings

Antalis is constantly looking to improve its Digital Media range with a commitment to improve its environmental media solutions. A good example of this is the recent refresh of its Digital

Wallcoverings range. Traditional wallcoverings have a PVC embossed face which gives a decorative finish. Using different materials and less embossment, Antalis now stocks four materials that are PVC-free. Non-woven ‘paste the wall products’ are easy to apply and can be applied dry onto a pasted wall, keeping the wallcoverings dimensional stability:

• Coala Walldesign NW UV/LX Fine Stone is an attractively textured wallcover which is PVC-free and FSC certified.

• Coala Walldesign NW Recycled which has a smooth matte finish and is made from 100% recycled fibres.

Adhesive backed products are suitable for those that prefer minimal fuss and clean application with repositionable adhesive:

• Coala Silky Wallcover Textile has a polyester fine textile finish with a grey opaque adhesive.

• Coala Walldesign Stick R has a smooth matte finish with a clear adhesive that is FSC certified.

Antalis has easy reference guides to assist customers’ selection processes. The Digital Wallcoverings Easy Reference Guide can be downloaded from the Antalis website.

Polar Grip Air is now available across the globe

While digital print is an extremely flexible technology that can handle a wide range of materials, it is still important to take care when selecting media. A product that may be ideal for one application may not be quite so suitable for another. Print companies should take their time when choosing media to ensure they use the best product for the project at hand. After all, there is little worse than realising you have printed something onto an unsuitable material and have to start all over again. Drytac has a wide range of solutions for use across the sign and display markets. The manufacturer is constantly updating and expanding its portfolio to offer even more choice to customers. With this in mind, Drytac recently made one product that was previously only offered

was initially rolled out in the North American market back in the summer of 2023. However, following strong uptake over the past 18 months, Drytac has now made the product available to customers both in the UK and across other markets globally. Thanks to Drytac’s innovative bubble-free adhesive technology, the material ensures easy installation across a range of applications. The vinyl features a high-coat weight grey adhesive and allows users to permanently apply graphics onto many surfaces including metal, plastic, wood, glass, brick and more. When paired with Interlam Pro Emerytex laminate, Polar Grip Air can also be used to create longer term, slip-rated floor graphics to help users access additional opportunities. Supplied with a seven-year warranty for both indoor and outdoor applications when used with matching overlaminates, the material is compatible with eco solvent, latex and UV printers. The company cannot wait to see how customers across these

new markets will use the material and hopes to see more fantastic applications being produced.
