Focus on Inkjet Printers Epson

Expanding possibilities with piezo technology

There are two main ways of ejecting ink from a printer. The first is thermal technology, which uses a heater to heat the ink and form bubbles that cause the ink to be ejected. The other is piezo technology, which applies voltage to change the shape of piezoelectric elements, the mechanical motion of which ejects the ink.

Micro piezo print heads are extraordinarily durable because they are not subjected to heat-induced functional deterioration. This technology is an innovative way to boost productivity while mitigating environmental impacts and replaces analogue printing in every possible application. Advancements in piezo technology led to PrecisionCore printhead technology, a next-generation inkjet printing advancement, developed by merging advanced thin-film piezo (TFP) technology, high-precision MEMS fabrication, and ultra-precision assembly.

Epson’s PrecisionCore print heads are designed for high speed and image quality, achieving up to 40 million precise dots per second with astonishing ink placement accuracy and fewer distortions and imperfections.

fields, including even electronics and biotech applications. Epson’s latest breakthrough in the signage printing market, the SC-S9100 is a compact 64in eco-solvent printer, tailored for small, medium, and large production houses engaged in general signage, wallpaper applications, and direct printing on substrates such as clear film, vinyl, canvas, and photographic paper. Featuring the new PrecisionCore Micro TFP user-replaceable print head, the SC-S9100 reduces downtime and maintenance costs and ensures continuous production capabilities. Furthermore, EcoTank printers offer another sustainable and cost-effective home printing solution with refillable ink tanks instead of cartridges, potentially saving up to 90% on ink costs.

the latest additions to this collection is the HP Latex R530, a large-format, yet compact, all-in-one rigid and flexible printer announced at the end of March 2025. The first device of its kind, the HP Latex R530 offers the perfect blend of performance and versatility, delivering stunning, consistent print quality across high-margin rigid and flexible applications, thus opening up all manner of opportunities to the user. Stand-out attributes include a top print speed of 31sq m/hr in

Inkjet is becoming an increasingly popular option for printing companies that are seeking to speed up production while maintaining a high level of output quality. Add in the ability for these machines to handle a wide range of substrates and lower ink consumption, which in turn means reduced costs for the user, and it is easy to see why more printers are turning to this technology. HP offers a large selection of inkjet printers, many of which are within the extensive HP Latex range of machines. One of

four-pass, draft mode and 15.5sq m/hr in six-pass, fast mode. For more intricate work, users can print at speeds of up to 9.2sq m/hr while operating in quality mode. The machine has a maximum print resolution of 1200x600dpi, enabling customers to produce print at high quality, while it can handle media up to 50.8mm thick and as wide as 1,626mm. As such, this makes the HP Latex R530 ideal for work such as indoor and outdoor signage, vehicle graphics, wall coverings, window graphics, soft signage, point of sale and packaging. The new machine runs water-based HP Latex Ink. Being

water-based, this ink has much lower VOC levels than solvent, eco-solvent and UV inks, offering additional environmental benefits to the user.
