Focus on Wide-Format Printers

AQUAFUZE and the Acuity Triton Fujifilm

In large-format printing, the development of inks and ink technology has always been a balancing act. Print service providers have traditionally been forced to choose between durability, flexibility, print speed, media compatibility, and environmental impact. Each ink type, whether eco-solvent, latex or UV, comes with its own compromises. With AQUAFUZE, Fujifilm introduced a new approach to ink chemistry that combines the best of water-based and UV-curable technologies while solving many of their long-standing limitations. This is not simply an improvement – it’s a materials science breakthrough that could reshape how the industry thinks about inkjet production. The chemistry behind AQUAFUZE is so different from conventional inkjet inks that existing printers weren’t compatible. This meant we had to develop a hardware platform that could handle the unique properties of AQUAFUZE. This resulted in the development of the Acuity Triton – the first printer designed specifically for this ink. The Acuity Triton is a roll-fed printer that combines the strengths of LED UV and water-based inkjet technologies to meet a wide range of market needs. It delivers low-energy, low-temperature drying compared to traditional water-based systems. AQUAFUZE was developed as a direct response to what print providers have been telling us for years: they want inks that deliver durability and versatility without the compromises

of existing technologies. Whether it’s reducing drying times, lowering energy consumption, or eliminating the need for hazardous chemicals, our goal was always to solve real customer pain points. As the wide-format market continues to evolve, print businesses require solutions that deliver performance while remaining efficient. Solutions such as the Acuity Triton, powered by AQUAFUZE ink technology, are fulfilling these demands by delivering photographic-quality results, production speed and application versatility. These solutions give printers the stability, safety and flexibility to maximise their potential and compete in an evolving market.

Wide-format print remains one of the stand-out growth markets for print service providers (PSPs). While steady demand continues across traditional applications like signage, banners, retail graphics and vehicle wrapping, additional markets such as textile and décor printing, personalised prints, and high-value display work present PSPs with more opportunities. To ensure you are properly equipped to respond to this

evolving demand, having the right machines in place is hugely important. Investment in the latest technology will give you much more flexibility and allow you to work with new and existing customers on all manner of exciting projects. In 2025, HP announced several new machines as

part of its own response to the changing demands and requirements of PSPs and their customers. The most recent addition is the HP Latex FS70 W, with a maximum printing width of 3.2m in colour speeds of 117m sq/ hr in outdoor quality and 91m sq/hr in indoor quality. The machine runs with 10L colour cartridges and has a white ink option with six-litre cartridges. Also new from HP is the HP Latex R530, an all-in-one rigid and flexible printer, which can print on media up to 1.6m wide and 5cm in speed of 24m sq/hr in outdoor mode, while it also has a white ink option. We also offer the HP Latex 730 and 830 Series. Both

offer many of the same features including a white ink option and a maximum print width of 1.63m. The HP Latex 830 is slightly faster at 36m sq/hr in outdoor mode, compared to the HP Latex 730 at 31m sq/hr. For us, upgrading your equipment is the most effective

way of ensuring you capitalise on the latest demand across wide-format print and related markets. HP machinery, with the support of specialist software including the highly flexible HP Print OS, will help you achieve your growth goals.
