Lollipop Print installs new Colorado M5W from CMYUK
L
ollipop Print has invested in a Canon Colorado M5W from CMYUK, strengthening its
wide-format production capabilities. The company chose the Canon Colorado M5W from CMYUK, after finding out the limitations of using a Canon Arizona flatbed roll-to-roll printer as jobs were taking too long to complete. A key advantage of the Colorado M5W, compared to its predecessor, is its unattended print capability. Dan Patience, head of print services, said: “We leave it running when we go home at night and it will happily work away. With the Arizona, we would come in to find it had only printed 3m and
then stopped, which is a horrible way to start the day. With the Colorado, you really gain a lot of production hours by running unattended.” The new printer has allowed the company to expand its capabilities, including taking on more jobs, utilising white ink more and the Colorado’s matt and gloss effects. With the Colorado M5W added to the company’s workflow, Lollipop Print now has a powerful suite of equipment that supports continued diversification. The company has already started to
expand into packaging applications alongside bespoke mailers. Mr Patience concluded: “Working with CMYUK has been very positive. They

The machine’s reliability not only improves service levels but also contributes to more sustainable operations through reduced waste and better resource use.
Sign Zone regularly supplies grand-format sized graphics and a recent 21x1.6m installation was produced in a significantly shorter timeframe with the company’s new printer. Mr Parravano added: “We’ve been really impressed with the support from Spectrum throughout the whole process. Their team has been knowledgeable, approachable and quick to respond whenever we’ve had questions.”
Purple Global Events invests in JWEI technology from CMYUK P
urple Global Events has installed a JWEI JCUT-2131 digital cutting table from CMYUK, allowing the
Bedford-based company to grow further. The decision to invest in the JWEI came after understanding that existing machinery could not handle the demands of fast turn-around exhibition production. Neil Blake, director for Purple Global
Events, said: “It’s the best thing we’ve done. Bringing the JWEI in-house has transformed our production – faster turnarounds, greater accuracy, and the confidence to take on more complex work.”

Following installation and CMYUK training, the company delivered a major stand at the World Travel Market for Jabal Omar, a Saudi resort brand. In addition to graphics, it used the JWEI to produce all elements for this stunning stand, including front counter back-lit logos, backlit logos to walls, curve shaped box facias, overlay displays to walls and 3D backlit letters. The machine has a full feature set that comes as standard including an automatic feeding conveyor, 1800kW liquid cooled router, a modularised cutting head that
