Editor’s Letter Dear readers,
I would like to start by saying how much of a pleasure it has been to curate this March/April issue alongside Ben, after meeting so many of you at the Sign & Digital UK show back in February.
Being able to put faces to names, while also meeting new people and being welcomed at the same time is a great feeling, and has made writing this issue all that more enjoyable, especially after finding out more about not only the companies but the people behind them too.
Filling both Melanie and Ben’s shoes is no easy feat, but the support from both of my senior editors and the industry has been a great help so far, and I look forward to being able to sink my teeth into many more stories about this interesting industry.
Now, on to what you came here for… the content.
In this issue you can expect the Sign & Digital UK show review from pages 32 to 39, and then just a quick turn of the page you can find a spread on the winners and those highly commended in the Sign Industry Awards on pages 40 to 43.
Then we move into our Sign Maker Profile, where we talked to Robert Joslin from Hartwood Timber about the uniqueness of timber sign making on page 44.
Then delve into our focus on features about wide-format printers, films and vinyl and lighting and illuminations, on pages 46, 62 and 56 respectively.
And of course our news topics and regular columns are back to keep you well informed of industry news and trade top tips.
I hope you enjoy this month’s issue as much as Ben and I had creating it! We’ll be setting our sights on creating the next one to be just as information-packed as this.
