Just Egg arrives in UK with OOH installation at London’s King’s Cross

ecent visitors to London’s King’s Cross station were greeted by 5m-high Just Egg carton that appeared to have crash landed into the ground.


The OOH installation was designed to mark the brand’s debut outside of the US. The Vegan Food Group – the exclusive licensee and manufacturer of Just Egg in the UK – partnered with McCann Birmingham to bring the campaign to life. It was designed to engage a broad UK audience, from vegans and flexitarians to health-conscious consumers and those with intolerances. It was timed to build brand support ahead of its exclusive launch on Ocado.


Chris Bamford, creative director at McCann, said: “The campaign line [Just Egg has landed] wrote itself, because consumer sentiment is so strong for this product. There’s a community of fans who we lovingly call Just Egg Heads, and they’re finally getting what they’ve spent years passionately lobbying for. The brand has A-list ambassadors in the US, but here in the UK we wanted to launch with a series of more intimate introductions and experiences over multiple touchpoints, timings and locations. That said, a 5m-high crash-landed carton of plant- based, egg innovation at King’s Cross isn’t that subtle!”


SignMax uses Drytac’s Polar Grip and ReTac Textures on striking wall graphics projects

outh African signage and branding business SignMax recently used Drytac’s Polar Grip and ReTac Textures to complete several striking interior graphics projects for various clients across the country. SignMax partners with its clients on all manner of projects, with wall graphics proving to be one of its most sought-after services. For much of this work, the company uses Drytac materials, having first been introduced to the solutions by Midcomp, Drytac’s


exclusive dealer in South Africa, in 2019. NJ Vermaak, managing director of SignMax, said: “Over the last few years, we have been getting more requests for custom printed wall murals. As we started doing more of these, we saw a gap in the local market and explored all the options available to us.” Among its most recent wall graphics projects was a collaboration with Fish & Chip Co., where it used Polar Grip to produce an eye-catching installation depicting the company’s famous ‘Fresh,

Hot And A Lot’ brand message. SignMax also used Polar Grip to create a set of stunning, graffiti-style wall graphics for its own reception. The graphics were designed to mimic actual graffiti, with the final piece appearing as if graffiti had been spray-painted onto the reception wall.

The activation was accompanied by a fully kitted-out food truck – offering UK audiences their first ever taste of Just Egg. Additional campaign elements include dynamic social content, guerilla OOH advertising and UK-specific product packaging design.
