Extra benefits for heat pump installers
Heat pump installers who qualify to join Viessmann’s newly launched VIPartner loyalty scheme stand to benefit from a host of rewards. VIPartner builds on the company’s established VPlus incentive programme, which offers points on purchases from all of its products when they are registered through its portal. VIPartner offers MCS-registered installers fitting a minimum of five
Call to charities to make their nominations
Bedfordshire-based Burton Smith Plumbing & Heating is appealing to registered charities to nominate a deserving cause in need of a free gas boiler service.
It will also include the installation
and testing of a carbon monoxide (CO) alarm, and the company is appealing to charities to contact them to nominate anyone deserving of the offer, whether they be a family, a good cause or an individual.
The initiative comes as Coronation Street recently showed a spotlight on the importance of CO
alarms in an episode first broadcast on 12th January, when character Aadi Alahan almost died after failing to realise that his flat’s CO detector had malfunctioned. Toby Burton (pictured), founder and managing director of Burton Smith, says: “We have experienced significant growth in the last seven years, thanks to our amazing clients, and see this as a way of contributing to the communities we serve.” Registered charities wishing to
nominate should get in touch at 01462 412 022.
Viessmann heat pumps each year a range of additional perks. These include extra VPlus points for every registered heat pump installation, qualified heat pump sales leads in their area, seven-year heat pump warranties and promotion on Viessmann’s website as a VIPartner. In addition to MCS certification,
qualifying installers are also required to complete Viessmann’s free heat pump training course and fill out a pre-qualification questionnaire. You can nominate your business to join the VIPartner loyalty scheme using the online reader link below. ◼

Lend your views on RPZs
Water Regs UK is seeking installer feedback on proposed changes to the approved installation method for RPZ valves, the devices used to prevent backflow of water. The regulations aim to protect drinking water by preventing contamination, waste, and misuse. The revisions would require periodic reassessment of competence for RPZ valve testers and potentially the purchase of new testing equipment. The changes are intended to address concerns about test methods and equipment accuracy, and to align the UK with established practices in countries like Australia and the USA. The consultation provides an opportunity for stakeholders to understand expectations and responsibilities and to adapt to the new requirements. The consultation period runs until 1st May 2024 and can be accessed on the link below. ◼
