PFU launches adaptable 4K laser projector for a premium viewing experience anywhere
PFU (EMEA) has added the Ricoh PJ UHL3660 UST laser projector to its growing portfolio of smart meeting devices designed to create a more inclusive and lifelike meeting experience. The new ultra short throw (UST) projector delivers a premium viewing experience for every situation and in every environment, including brightly lit or crowded spaces. Its 6,500-lumen brightness, 4K Ultra HD resolution, and OptiBright technology produce visibly sharper, clearer images. The bright, sharp images combined with immersive audio create an enhanced realism and dynamic viewing experience for participants, even in public meeting spaces. Where space is limited, the projector offers a 0.24 ultra short throw ratio, creating an 85-inch image from just 1cm away (from the edge of the projector) and a maximum projection size of 160 inches. It has built-in edge blending software so that multiple units can be combined to achieve very large image projections. Example applications include store signage, museums, covered outdoor entertainment venues, and exhibition halls, making it ideal for the event and entertainment sectors. With efficiency and economy core to the projector’s design, it offers a cost-effective and compact alternative to current high lumens UST options on the market.
Sony Semiconductor Solutions and Raspberry Pi launch the Raspberry Pi AI camera
SONY Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (SSS) and Raspberry Pi have announced the launch of a jointly developed AI camera. The Raspberry Pi AI Camera, compatible with Raspberry Pi’s range of single-board
computers, will accelerate the development of AI solutions that process visual data at the edge. Starting from 30 September, the product will be available for purchase from Raspberry Pi’s network of approved resellers. In April 2023, it was announced that SSS would make a minority investment in Raspberry Pi . Since then, the companies have been working to develop an edge AI platform for the community of Raspberry Pi developers, based on SSS technology. The AI Camera is powered by SSS’s IMX500 intelligent vision sensor, which is capable of on-chip AI image processing, enabling Raspberry Pi users around the world to easily and efficiently develop edge AI solutions that process visual data.

Zyxel launches smart managed switches for small businesses
ZYXEL NETWORKS is launching its new XGS1935 series of Lite-L3 smart managed switches to meet the growing connectivity and sustainability needs of small businesses. The XGS1935 series delivers improvements in energy efficiency and carbon emission reductions, while providing hassle-free and affordable 10GbE migration with high-performance switching technology. Start-ups and small businesses often find it challenging to provide seamless connectivity for the growing number of devices in the workplace—from laptops and servers to IP cameras and phones. Available in 28- and 52-gigabit port options, the XGS1935 series provides flexible and scalable networking while ensuring fast and reliable connectivity for dozens of devices simultaneously. The inclusion of four 10GbE SFP+ uplinks help businesses bypass network bottlenecks, while Power over Ethernet (PoE) options simplify installation by delivering both power and data through a single cable. A total power capacity of 375W and support for PoE+ enables the XGS1935 series to meet the power demands of most connected devices, including surveillance cameras, access control systems and wireless access points. Additionally, the switches have a built-in smart fan that automatically adjusts its speed based on the internal temperature of the device, reducing noise while ensuring stable connectivity for everyday operation.
Businesses that adopt the XGS1935 series will also benefit from a licence-free version of Zyxel Networks’ Nebula cloud management platform, for zero-touch deployment and remote network control via the web or through the app. The switch series also features standalone management with an intuitive wizard and user-friendly local web interface. This allows more in-depth configuration of capabilities such as enhanced QoS, link aggregation, IPv6, and IPv4/IPv6 Layer 3 static routing, without the need to learn and use a complex command line interface (CLI).
