Networking spotlight

Leveraging connectivity to support critical equipment

A stable network is crucial for smooth running of businesses operations and continuity. While all customers’ requirements vary, they all depend on stable connectivity and layered technology to bolster that network.

M

anaged Service Provider, GFR Tech, has been working with TP-Link since 2017, providing pay-as-you-go and retained support to customers in environments such as

healthcare and financial services. Given the critical nature of these sectors, it is vital that any issues with network solutions are resolved quickly and efficiently, with remote support playing a key role in minimising downtime. When it comes to healthcare environments, typically the need is

expansion of network capacity to improve their overall connectivity and support an array of medical equipment. Recently, the GFR Tech team worked with a veterinary hospital in Yorkshire where they were briefed to establish and install all aspects of their IT setup from scratch, including a full data network with fibre links to a separate building to support equipment such as CT scanners, X-Ray machines, and blood analysers. In this case, the

network also needed to support customer access to the internet when visiting the site. By collaborating closely with the client, the Omada Cloud Networking platform was implemented to integrate products such as switches, access points and controllers.

54 | November/December 2024 George Randolph, CEO at GFR Tech, said: “So many of our

customers are dealing with critical equipment, and require a fully managed IT support service in case of any downtime or connectivity issues. In working with TP-Link, we can remotely manage customer connectivity via the TP-Link Omada app, and when additional support is required, we can call upon the TP-Link technical support team.” “We recently launched the TP-Link Partner Programme

‘SolutionX’ to better support our channel partners. Tis enables us to work closely with partners, such as GFR Tech, to ensure that they receive dedicated support with multiple sales, marketing and commercial benefits to facilitate long term and sustainable growth” Said Ben Allcock, Sales Director, UK&I at TP-Link UK. GFR Tech was an early adopter of the TP-Link Omada Partner

Programme, which has evolved over the years to meet the growing needs of the business and their customers. As a TP-Link Gold Partner, they have benefitted from the ONCA Wireless Training, which is focused on network optimisation and enables them share key insights with their customers. Te SolutionX Partner Programme offers a combination of

sales incentives, technical and training support, Omada Product Demo Kit discounts, plus marketing benefits – with tiered levels of engagement from Platinum, Gold and Silver through to Registered – each providing different levels of support and benefits to partners.
